Second time for a Sunday roast. This time not so good. Chose the Florence as we love Maya and the exceptional food quality and flavours. The first visit to the Florence didn’t disappoint, amazing flavours, especially the roast potatoes and cauliflower cheese! This visit however the flavours just weren’t there and there was no cauliflower cheese available. The service was very quick which I know some people like but it wasn’t busy so there wasn’t a turnaround issue, we felt very rushed. All staff were super friendly and drinks were great! The toast was really nice but just not that wow factor this time. Will return though Thank you

Very warm welcome as always. Excellent food, good service. Took friends there for a birthday meal and they were very happy.

Another lovely meal at The Chequers. Such a warm welcome from the friendly staff. Can’t recommend the Chequers highly enough - there’s a lovely walk nearby so take your dog and then walk off your lunch. One day I’ll leave room for pudding!

Highly recommend. This was a first visit for Sunday lunch at this venue. Really impressed with the food and service. Will certainly return again soon.

First time we visited yesterday 25th January 2026. The staff are all amazing and friendly which makes people keep returning. Food is very tasty and quite big portions. My boyfriend had just a main but I had to go for the full 3 courses and so happy I did. My bf had Pork Belly and veg, I had Garlic Mushrooms for starter then ham,eggs chips and extra beans then I had a lemon meringue pie with cream. We will most definitely be returning at some point. We love all the New Forest pubs that we've visited so far, never a bad

We were recommended to visit the Florence and we were very pleased to go with that suggestion. Everything was above expectation

I booked a table at the master builders for a group of 8. We were welcomed at the pub by a very happy friendly barman and he made sure everything was just perfect for us all. Our food arrived within minutes of each others which was great, the food was all home cooked and fresh, we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. We will definitely go back again. Highly recommended.

Visited The Checkers Inn Pub for the first time on Sunday. Its a beautiful little pub. I was able to book a table online. The staff were very welcoming and attentive. We had a beef Sunday roast dinner & it was very delicious we both loved it. Highly recommend visiting this pub. Prices are very reasonable & great value for what you get.

Had the most amazing roast at The Florence on Sunday. Everything was extra tasty and great portion sizes . The beef was cooked perfectly. The service was excellent and the location superb. Would highly recommend.

Fantastic carvery . This was my second visit and thoroughly enjoyed the food . Great portion size of meats , lovely fresh vegetables and delicious gravy . Highly recommend

Have visited several times. Every time the food has been very good with large portions. Sunday lunch is particularly good. Nice beer selection from the local (ish) Flacks brewery. What is really nice is the staff and people running this pub are super friendly.

First time visit on Sunday for lunch (lived in Southamptonon and off over 50 years). Can only reiterate other reviews - excellent food, very friendly service, great ambiance with the open fire. Not a great lover of live music but this was pitched just right without blasting my ears! We will definitely return.
