Great food and service very good until we asked for tap water, took 3 attempts and was told the bar was very busy, we only asked for tap water . Alcholol obviously took presidence

Two steaks and a bottle of wine on the Thursday night deal. The steaks were cooked to perfection. The wine was cold, and very easy to drink. Service was excellent, and the music was just right, light jazz. We didn't feel rushed at all, the whole atmosphere felt calm. Perfect.

For years, The Lunesdale, was our favourite go to local restaurant, but following a couple of changes in ownership it unfortunately suffered a decline. Now, under its new ownership they have returned it to what it once enjoyed. Good food, pleasant atmosphere, attentive staff. what more could you wish for. We thoroughly recommend it.

Excellent food and ambience

This was our 5th or 6th time at Shepherds and it was as great as ever. It’s a lovely 45 minute walk from Tod so I feel I’ve earned the steak pie - possibly the best pie & gravy in the world. I always feel drowsy after eating so much and have to have a sticky toffee pudding to give me the energy to walk home!! Great food and great service from really lovely staff

Always beautiful fresh and tasty food. Very busy, but service was quick efficient and friendly. We brought some friends from out of town and they loved it

Another lovely meal. We will miss some of our old favourites from the old menu but it's still our go to place when we want an agreeable meal in a place that feels a little more special than a run of the mill pub.
