Excellent venue for meeting friends,

Everything about Riley’s is incredible - atmosphere, location, food, prices and staff but for us it’s the real attention to detail in the quality of the drinks, particularly for us the wine menu but our friends and family are as delighted with the cocktails and the beer menu! Simply class!!!

Having enjoyed a very good lunch, along with my wife, back in February we invited a friend along this time. I regret to say that this time we were disappointed and embarrassed. We were initially offered a shortened version of the lunch menu which appears on the website. On requesting the full menu only a limited selection of the items were actually available. I had made an online booking for the table, which had been accepted with no indication that the menus would be so restricted. The meal which my wife particularly wanted, the fish pie, was unavailable. We settled for a steak pie for myself whilst my wife and our friend ordered the chicken pies. When these came the pastry was rock hard and almost impossible to cut. The gravy for the chicken pies appeared to be beef gravy. Finally, no decafinated coffee was available. If this is the current norm I'm not surprised that we were almost the only customers.

Booked a table for 2 to have a small platter and wine. Flights (wine) were ok although stopped serving a Rose flight. Food took over 40 minutes to arrive which as the place not overly busy was annoying. Quality of cold platters good but not sure if we would return again soon.

Every single time we eat here, all the food is ten out of ten, it is excellent value and the staff are very attentive and well trained.

Fantastic. I was looking for a place to eat with a friend in the area and was not disappointed here.. great food and atmosphere, would definitely recommend booking. Will definitely go again.

We had been told about this restaurant by a friend and we weren’t disappointed The views are spectacular and the food and service the best we have had anywhere. It was nice to be greeted by a smiley lady and nothing was too much trouble for her customers. The food was delicious and with ample potions. If you’ve not tried this pub/restaurant you really must.

Excellent service and good

We cannot recommend this pub enough! We had dinner and it was brilliant. The menu does state that food is cooked fresh so be prepared to wait about 30 minutes. Having said that, it wasn’t an excessive wait and it was most definitely worth it. Really good portions, delicious food and friendly, efficient service. This is a great little country pub, run by the community, and we wouldn’t hesitate to eat here again.

Great food. Good service excellent value

It's a while since I have been but the food was as excellent as always, the pate is amazing, the lasagne the best of any Italian restaurant I have ever been to and I can highly recommend the Caffe Viennese dessert. My co-diners loved their choices too. The atmosphere was lovely, although we were surprised to find it a lot quieter than expected for a Saturday night, possibly the cost of living is biting, although maybe people were in pubs or at home watching the football. The service, as always, was friendly, polite and efficient, we were not rushed but empty plates were tidied away promptly, and someone was readily on hand if required. This has always been my go to for Italian food and tonight did not disappoint. Servings are good sized and at around £30/£35 each for a 3 course meal with drinks I don't feel it is overpriced.
