The Shepherd's Rest is without any doubt the best pub I've been to in a couple of decades. A real traditional Yorkshire pub with really excellent food, service and atmosphere topped up by the most amazing views over the Calder Valley and, for hikers like us, the perfect spot for walking to Stoodley Pike. Bar manager James and bar staff Jesse deserve special mention. They were brilliant on every front: polite, enthusiastic, communicative and efficient. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Can't ask for more than that. Our only regret is that it's over an hour's drive away, so I'd make a request that you expand to doing B&B too as you'd be the go-to base for hikers in that valley. Have already mapped out more walks starting/ending at the Shepherd's Rest, whiich I've now recommended to many friends. Thanks again for a lovely day: can't wait to come back!

First time eating here and will definitely go again. Food was excellent, service was excellent and good value, £138 for four mains, a kids meal, 5 desserts and three drinks. Not sure how to mark atmosphere as we were the earliest available booking and were the only ones there but it was getting busier as we left.

A really lovely meal. Relaxing ambience, fantastic starter, excellent house wine and really good quality produce well cooked. Full marks . Enjoyed everything g about the meal and thank you to the smiling and helpful staff.

As usual the food was excellent. Service spot on as well. We dine at Quattro’s regularly and have never been disappointed.

This is such a fantastic place to go. I love the food and thankfully they dont only serve British fare. You can get seafood and the mussels are incredible! Excellent service always.

Varied menu so there was something to suit everyone. I loved the tempura cauliflower and my other half said the pulled lamb special was really tasty. The service was friendly and prompt and it’s a pleasant, traditional pub atmosphere - that’s why we’re regulars !!

First time I had lunch there and it was amazing. Food was spot on. So tasty and freshly cooked. Had quite a few breakfasts in the past and they have always been delicious. Five star.

Had a fabulous meal last night with friends. Staff were really friendly and attentive, food was delicious and there was a variety of food on offer. The steak and Stilton pie from the specials menu was so good. Price is very reasonable and atmosphere great. Would highly recommend.

We arrived and was greeted with a warm welcome. Excellent service throughout and they were especially attentive to my wife who has an allergy. We will be attending again very soon.

We visited Quattro's after a 10 year gap (a change of job meant we were no longer in the area regularly) and were delighted to encounter the warm welcome, interesting menu and excellent food that we remembered.
