Food was great! It’s a little understaffed, just two folks covering the bar and all tables. Atmosphere could be improved - no music, plus we were in a very dark corner with a wobbly table and weird chairs.

The 3 of us had Sunday lunch at the Queens Head, and we all enjoyed our meals The crackling with the pork was great and could have done with another piece!!!.The beef was lovely and tender, and the Yorkshire puddings were huge. We all had deserts, the Sticky toffee pudding was Sticky, and I was told delicious, the fruit Crumble was lovely and the ice cream was cold!!! The staff were friendly and couldn't do enough for us. We would recommend going to the Queens, and we will be returning. Certainly value for money.

Exceptional food and service..

3/5 for my meal. I had the Mushroom Cobbler which I think is a new vegetarian dish on the menu. The cobbler itself was quite tasty but the pathetic looking side of overcooked, tasteless carrots that came with it were dire. This dish has so much potential to be better so it needs reworking because at the moment it looks a bit like an afterthought to fill a vegetarian option on the menu. Maybe serve it with spinach and some other decent veg to make to make it more appetising. Husband’s pork dish was 5/5 because he enjoyed it. It looked well presented on the plate compared to my dish. Staff were lovely, friendly and attentive so no issues there.

We had a lovely meal at Grants, friendly service and excellent food. We will definitely eat here again when we are next in Penrith. Well worth a visit!

Delicious way to celebrate a 50th birthday. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff lead by Louise and the food was excellent and plentiful. The whole experience from booking to menu choices was dealt with in a very friendly manner by Louise

Lovely friendly staff who helped make our 40th wedding anniversary meal so special. The food was amazing, nothing but praise from our guests. We will be back next time we are back in the area, highly recommend.

5* food ! The fillet steak melted in our mouths it was so tender . Lovely small intimate restaurant with very friendly & attentive staff . It will definitely become our regular “go to “ . Highly recommend.

The bar manager Louise is consistently friendly, professional and always has a smile on her face. Nothing is too much for her customers and this is truly top quality service. Dan the chef has produced some tasty, wholesome foods and never lacks enthusiasm towards his menu.. What a wonderful pub and B&B. Thank you

Four of us had a lovely meal on 3rd September to celebrate our 59th wedding anniversary. The cheese souffle, the lamb and the plum tart were particularly good. The atmosphere was great as was the service. We shall definitely be back - you are the best in the area!
