Very good atmosphere and great food
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyAlways good food at The White Hart and this time was no exception. The staff were very friendly and attentive too which is always appreciated. Lovely chilled and calm surroundings, dog friendly in both the restaurant and the bar area which we love. My only small criticism was that the shepherds pie (which was really tasty) could have been made a little thicker to avoid the mash potato being completely absorbed into it (had maybe better served in a wider but shallower dish too for my preference). Shepherds pie is one of my all time favourites and a nice creamy/browned mash on the top (ideally charred around the edge) is the crowning glory :)) The club ciabatta was great, as were the 3 sides we ordered too.
The White Hart – IronbridgeBooked a table online for 7:30, turned up and was told the kitchen was closed. Did enquire why it allowed a food booking if it was closed but was just told “yeah we need to update that”. A more proactive approach could have been contacting me when the booking was made to tell us the kitchen wouldn’t be open. Was prompted by email to leave a review following our visit, probably another thing worth updating. Very disappointing and lack of care for the inconvenience it caused.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordLovely food and atmosphere. Highly recommend
Ribeye Shrewsbury – ShrewsburyLovely meal & great service
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyHad a very nice meal when we went for the Quiz night recently. Been a few times now and the food is lovely. I had the faggots and they are the best I have had. My wife enjoyed the crispy chilli beef. Staff very attentive and helpful. Would recommend a visit
The Golden Ball Inn – TelfordFantastic home cooked food, friendly staff and beautiful, comfortabke surroundings. Brilliant value for money and nothing too much trouble - an absolutely wonderful experience!!! Everything was that perfect we ate here on 2 consecutive days!! ☆☆☆☆☆
Water Rat – IronbridgeLovely food & great service, would definitely recommend
The Golden Ball Inn – TelfordGood food and great service, Unfortunately the restaurant was not busy so it lacked atmosphere and the air conditioning made the restaurant cold which also caused our food to be cold
The Underground – ShrewsburyFood was lovely, staff where friendly, however we took our two children with coeliac disease there after being told they can cater for them and they were ill after. Would recommend just not for anyone with Ceoliac Disease
The Queens Head – OswestrySadly our visit to the smokey cow for my husbands birthday celebration was extremely disappointing. The food arrived almost 2 hours after our arrival, even when most the meals came out my daughter waited another ten minutes for her fish. We were left waiting for drinks orders. There was a hair mixed into the brisket which was revolting. There was lipstick marks on the glasses. We will not be returning. Not sure why it was this poor.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordAs always, a first class meal. We love this restaurant and it’s so good to have local places that never disappoint. It’s well worth the price of the set meals. Will be back again very soon.
Suree’s Kitchen – IronbridgeHad the sharing platter. Lovely staff, lovely food.
Ribeye Shrewsbury – ShrewsburyLovely choice of gluten free food on menu,Service and food were excellent,it is my favourite place to go in Oswestry
The Queens Head – OswestryGroup of 10 for bottomless brunch. Service was excellent, very attentive staff and the drinks were excellent. The only very small negative was the portion sizes of the tacos were very small . We needed to order extra food to fill us up which ended up costing quite a bit more .
The Underground – ShrewsburyPleasant friendly atmosphere, staff attentive and helpful. We liked the variety on the menu as well as extras on specials board.
