Water Rat – IronbridgeHad a pork roast dinner and it was incredible!! Stayed and had a few cocktails after our meal and myself and friends ordered the sharing 3 for £15 and had the squid, mozzarella sticks and Mac and cheese bites, everything was so good. Will definitely be returning for another Sunday dinner
The Malthouse – TelfordTasty food, nice drink selection and good service.
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyLovely pub … lovely menu and friendly staff. Bank holiday Monday and we dined at 6pm we noticed a lack of staff, we had to wait to be served for drinks , and for our food order to be taken. Waited about 40 minutes just for bread and oils to arrive and we were informed that a few items were not available on the menu. Our main courses eventually arrived and really good. Just needed a few extra hands to wait on tables and everything would have been spot on. People don’t want a long wait for food and drink orders to be taken and then have to wait again for food and drinks to arrive …. It’s a real shame because our food was lovely and the pub is really comfortable and nicely decorated. I would visit again in the future.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordWent for Sunday lunch at short notice so was very glad to get a table. I had the Sunday lunch which was great, my only criticism was that i would of preferred a little more green veg to go with the roasted parsnip and carrots and cauliflower cheese. However my wife was attracted to the pea, broad bean and asparagus risotto. This was to risotto that the loaf in the film “about a boy” is to bread. ( it killed the duck!) it was a tasteless glutinous cow pat that had no resemblance to a risotto. I know they are difficult to cook , so if that’s as good as it gets, take it off the menu and stick to things that the chef can do well ( like the Sunday lunch band other meals we have had there.) The staff removed ot off the bill which was great however but I would have preferred to pay and have a good meal for both of us.
The Last Inn – NewportWonderful meal and service from all the staff at The Bull. They can't do enough for you, lovely friendly people. We will be regulars for sure.
The Bull – ShrewsburyFood was delicious. Really tasty and the portions were really generous. Service was ok but not amazing. Overall thought was nice and would go again.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordOh boy, where do I begin. This place is terribly understaffed which is so unfortunate as the food was really good. After booking a table and arriving at that time we were asked to wait by the door so they could get the table ready. About 10 mins later we were seated. Then a waitress never came back to us to take drinks or food orders, after about another 20 mins we had to go and find someone to take our order. The pub was filled with very loud people too which made the atmosphere not so nice. The table next to us actually moved to the front area as they couldn’t cope with the noise being caused by others. I know this isn’t something that could be helped but added to our negative experience. We then made our order and unfortunately the pigs in blankets were out of stock which was a shame as they are really nice. We all ordered and then our drinks took forever to be brought to us. Again we had to catch a waitress to ask for them. Then the drinks came and were lovely, we then did the long wait for the food. Once the food arrived someone ordered the pork which stated it came with crackling which it did not. After we had to yet again flag down a waitress to ask for sauces and this wasn’t asked to us when the food was brought to our table. We finished the meal and to be honest the food was really lovely. After the food was brought through no waitress even came near us for over an hour. We then had to go and ask at the bar for our bill. It’s a real shame as the food is lovely but it really needs the service to be sorted out for me to ever go back again or recommend to anyone else.
The Last Inn – NewportQuality well cooked food, service was quick and friendly would definitely go for Sunday dinner again !!!!
The Swan At Ironbridge – TelfordHad a fabulous evening meal here, could not fault it. Really tasty, good size portions and very hot. We were also staying in the pub for the weekend and had breakfast both mornings. Again could not fault it. Food was delicious and hot and plenty of it. Service was excellent. Highly recommend it
The Malthouse – TelfordMe and my partner went here for a celebratory meal as we just got engaged. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and felt well looked after. We understand their were some issues with the ticket machine in the kitchen causing some order delays, however we were informed of this and this wasn't an issue as we could enjoy the evening. The only reason for the 3 out of 5 for the atmosphere, was the table of 5 wild Karen's sat behind us, who didn't realise that the earth revolves around the sun and not them. They also were having the same issues as everyone due to the ticket machine problem, however the staff dealt with this incredibly, and have far more patience than I would have had with this situation. Would definitely recommend, just check the place out for Karen's before sitting down.
The Last Inn – NewportService and food excellent, quiet night which impacted on the atmosphere. Slightly disappointed that we couldn’t stay for a night cap given we were a large table
The White Hart – IronbridgeWonderful little restaurant, lovely location and the food is sublime. If you have never eaten Suree's food before I highly recommend you try, you will have to travel far to find such a tasty authentic fusion of culinary delights.
Suree’s Kitchen – IronbridgeReally nice evening food was delicious great chooses.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordThis is the best Thai Restaurant in Shropshire and I would say anywhere. The food is cooked fresh with the freshest ingredients. The flavours are exceptional, with the added twist that Suree always brings to her unique dishes. It is a real Thai experience. The staff are attentive but not overpowering, the restaurant is cosy with a homely feel. You do need to book!
Suree’s Kitchen – IronbridgeMy daughter & I absolutely loved our lunchtime meal, the quality, taste, presentation & service was phenomenal. We're looking forward to returning. Thank you.
The Bull – ShrewsburyFantastic family meal, great service, lovely atmosphere and setting. The food was good value, large portions and very tasty. Kids, parents and grandparents all had a great time, we are planning for our next get together at The Water Rat soon!
