The Bull – ShrewsburyHad a fabulous meal at the water rat this weekend. Steak was especially good. Nice atmosphere in the pub aswell. Staff were lovely but they did seem to be run off their feet. Seems a little short staffed as we had to kept asking for refills of drinks and gave up on ordering coffee in the end. However could not fault the service or meal as it was great. Just need a few more members of staff. Would highly recommend to anybody and will visit again food perfect !
Water Rat – IronbridgeI honestly dont know where the bad reviews come from or how recent they are but they cant be recent! Some of the best food and service we have had in years and it is the same every time we come! The team are great and the food is wonderful. We will keep returning and we certainly suggest you to. THE BULL WILL NOT DISSAPOINT
The Bull – ShrewsburyAbsolutely fantastic mothers day. My mum doesn’t get out often but today she did. We chose the bull as it had some good feedback from friends and we were not disappointed at all. The place was beautiful and the atmosphere was so cosy and sweet. Staff were on hand to greet us and make us welcome and we were promptly seen too. Both waiters were very cheerful and happy and they could not of done more for us. Food was superb. We hope to return.
The Bull – ShrewsburyThe food was absolutely amazing, we had the king pawns, wild mushrooms tagliatelle and the sirloin steak.... I've not tasted such an amazing steak like this for a long time, the service was excellent, we would love to come again. Our only recommendation would be to have a chicken dish on the menu.
Water Rat – IronbridgeStaff were really friendly, great service and the food was delicious.
Water Rat – IronbridgeLovely lunch at The Water Rat . Service was very good, friendly and welcoming. A good selection of main courses and sandwiches but would have liked a salad of some kind in the sandwich section. Staff attentive and took our orders for drinks and meals quickly and efficiently. Food was hot and presented well. We all enjoyed our meal. A lovely surprise when are bill was reduced due to the March lunch time offer. Value for money. We will be retuning soon.
Water Rat – IronbridgeWe had a nice night at white heart but apart from the dessert, which was fantastic, it was good but not memorable. Our wine was sold out and we were given another bottle without any reference to it we just spotted the bottle was different.
The White Hart – IronbridgeAfter being there for almost 2 hours, We had to ask at the bar if we could order desserts. When they arrived, we had to ask again at the bar for cutlery. The risotto was bland but the roast beef was nice. The menus were different to what was advertised online so a bit disappointing and much more expensive, as you had to order at least 2 courses.
The Bull – ShrewsburyMeal cost more than advertised on website. When I questioned this I was advised there is a legal batter about their website. Service was slow which resulted in walking to the bar and placing order. We had to ask twice for our meal as we waited over an hour and was only having one course. Food was great though.
The Bull – ShrewsburyFood was nice but I think the service could have been better the staff didn't seem very friendly, when you ask questions they don't look at you seemed more interested in their boyfriend sitting at the bar.
The Swan At Ironbridge – TelfordWas advised they had a chef down, however honestly we couldn’t tell! The food was perfect, with generous portion sizes and a great atmosphere in the place!
The Smokey Cow – TelfordExcellent meal, great atmosphere with live singer. Thoroughly enjoyed our evening- will definitely return soon.
The Swan At Ironbridge – TelfordExcellent meal and service. Very helpful staff. Recommended.
Water Rat – IronbridgeThe food was generally excellent, extremely tasty, we both had roast pork. However, whilst my partner's was mostly meat, mine was 50% fat, which was disappointing. When we sat down to order we noticed the menu was different to what was visible online. On enquiry we were told they had changed menus about a month ago, but did not have rights to their own website in order to update. We asked if we could still order a couple of roast sandwiches from the old menu, they checked with the kitchen and said we could. Food was slow to arrive, taking about half an hour, but as previously said was very tasty, if a bit fat heavy on mine. When we received the bill the sandwiches were £16 each, where on the online menu they were £9. When we questioned if this was correct they again went to check with the kitchen and told us it was correct, that £16 was the price for a single course (not listed on the paper or online menu) but they would take £2 off the total bill. Whist we understand they had been nice enough to make something off the old menu, to be charged £16 per item for something advertised at £9 on an active website, without being told of the price difference before hand, did not sit well. The £2 total off the bill did little to ease that feeling. We would much rather have been told "no" and just ordered a full roast dinner, which would have cost the same and been more than mostly bread, a few small roast potatoes and a slice of stuffing. Overall disappointing, lack of communication being the big let down.
The Bull – ShrewsburyEven better service than before, great manager. staff friendly and food generous and affordable.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordWe had an excellent lunch at The Water Rat. The staff were really friendly. It was quiet, but I think the road works have stopped people coming to the pub. A lovely country pub. Look forward to visiting again.
Water Rat – IronbridgeUpon our arrival at 4:30 it was fairly quite and clean. The service from the young girls was great and couldn’t fault there politeness and service when waiting our table. However, we sat at a table for 2 which faced the open kitchen in which you could see the food cooking and hear every conversation and sound. We both ordered 2 hot dogs with smothered fries, the excitement of watching the chefs get started was great but watching the young gentlemen use his hands for EVERYTHING did not bring us excitement. I watched the hot dogs being placed within the buns with his bare hands and then lick his fingers….he grabbed the chips with his hands and placed them onto the tray whilst eating them as he went along. When putting the toppings onto the chips he was helping himself to bits of meat whilst throughout LICKING HIS FINGERS…. I believe everyone sat waiting for there food saw his uncleanlinesses around dishing up orders but it was clear that this gentleman wasn’t bothered just rather peckish! Let me not forget to mention the heavy metal music playing in which it got louder and louder at one point. We won’t be keen to eat here again but have eaten at other Smokey cows in which have been fab!
