Great meal on a Saturday evening. Very pleasant drinks beforehand, and then two courses of excellent pub food (steak, and chicken burger). We both thought the food was very good, steak cooked to perfection, vegetables and sauces delicious. The service was friendly and prompt. Thank you.

Inattentive service. Waited over an hour for food after ordering and the staff didn't seem concerned when we asked how much longer we would have to wait. The food was nice but I found a strip of plastic in mine. Waited for staff to take payment and eventually went to the bar to arrange this. Overheard some other people complaining to the manager about the service and poor attitude of the staff but he didn't seem to care either.

My partner and I arrived, were seated and after 25mins, we hadn’t had any service at the table. We left the table and went to the bar to order our drinks. When we asked if we were meant to order at the bar, we were told that it was table service and that someone would be over to take our food order. We resumed our seats, the restaurant was not full, two waitresses were stood talking to the bar staff and the gentleman who was FOH, walked past our table several times but no one came to take our order. Having been seated almost an hour, we again went to the bar to order. The fact we ordered whilst being stood next to a waitress chatting to the barman about how she was finishing shift at 9pm was a bit rude. We sat down again, the food arrived about 35 mins after ordering. This was the one and only time and staff came to our table. We ate, the food was nice. When we finished, we sat for about 10mins and when the table was cleared, we asked for the bill, eventually we paid at the bar. The staff are very young and do the bare minimum. The service was almost non existent. So much so, it wasn’t even worth raising it and complaining. After alerting the bar staff, we realised they just aren’t bothered.

food was superb, the nicest buffalo wings I've had outside of America. Really good server she was chatty and not robotic like some places. only a small criticism was that the room was lacking atmosphere which could easily be sorted with some background music and maybe some colour on the walls and making it a bit more cosy

Another amazing evening at the Elephant Crossing for a birthday celebration. Lovely atmosphere, fantastic food as always and always well looked after here. Never feel rushed, the portion sizes are perfect and you can sit and enjoy the evening with wonderful food and drink.

We had to pre order our food 4 days before, they didn’t have the food that one person had ordered but didn’t tell us until the food was already all out on the table for everyone else, they also didn’t have this persons pudding either.

Lovely staff and great venue for our family of 4. However, the best part was an extraordinary dessert designed for those who cannot decide - for £22.50 we shared a huge platter of all desserts on the menu; what a great idea! To cap it all, there was live music, which just added to our excellent evening.

Stayed here last night for one night. Got to the room and thought it was "quirky" with uneven floor and squeaky floor boards, shower over the bath, no tea bags in room, noisy, so wasn't overly impressed. Then I had food in the restaurant...UNBELIEVABLE. I would of left a 3 star review, but food last night and then the breakfast this morning have pushed it up to a 5. Well worth the stay just for the incredible food, very happy. Bravo to the kitchen and front of house staff

While the food was excellent and excellent value I would hesitate to go again due to the extremely poor service. My husband and I arrived, had our food and drink order taken promptly, however after waiting nearly an hour and seeing a table who ordered after us receive their food we asked what was happening . We were told there was a 'technical hitch' and food would arrive soon. Two plates of food arrived - the wrong food, it was for another table who had ordered after us. I asked again and was told it was coming. It arrived and my husband plate was wrong, we had asked for no cauliflower cheese so it was taken back to be rectified, however, when I looked at my own the cauliflower was not cauliflower cheese, the menu was wrong. We were then asked if we wanted to see dessert menus which we did, however, sat and waited and waited to have our order taken and couldn't get anyone's attention so finally we got someone and just asked for the bill. We explained how bad everything had been and the server just mumbled something about the internet was not working correctly!!! Everyone else seemed to be getting their orders okay. I thought we might have been offered a cup of coffee as an apology, but nothing, but really I would just have liked the excellent food served in an appropriate time and correctly.
