Lovely meal as always
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyGreat Sunday roast. Well cooked, good portions and very tasty. Excellent value for good quality food. Will definitely come again.
The Bull – ShrewsburyWe came for mothers day yesterday and the food was delicious, my mum and partner loved the their roast dinner. I had the cauliflower wings to start with, which in comparison to other starters coming out such as the bao Buns seemed a little tight in the way of portion size (3 small cauliflower heads) and then had the chimichurri steak to follow which really wasn't as described... I essentially got a steak salad but I can't knock the steak as it was cooked perfectly and for what we paid it was good value for money.
The Last Inn – NewportExcellent Mother’s Day treat. Food beautifully cooked and delicious. Good service and value for money.
The Last Inn – NewportExcellent food. Booked a table for 3 but had to change it to 5 this was dealt with very well especially as it was Mothers Day! Went on the Saturday afternoon as we were checking the area, had a coffee and decided to book for dinner. The food was really good, plenty of it, well presented and delicious to boot. We were super happy as the meal we'd had on Friday evening in Whittington was pretty poor. Sunday lunch was great, we all had the roast which again was delicious and plentiful. My only downer would be don't put gravy on the dinner, I don't like gravy all over my meal, for a roast I only ever have it on beef and only on the meat, for me gravy should always be put in a gravy boat so the diner can use the amount they like and which food part it goes over!
The Queens Head – OswestrySunday lunch - 30 March 2025 - was to the usual high standards of both food quality and service. Many thanks.
The Queens Head – OswestryExcellent service and food we will be back
The White Hart – IronbridgeWe came Saturday for the bottomless brunch after reading how nice the cocktails were and alot of choice, unfortunately when we arrived we were told they had changed the individual cocktails to pitchers. Had we have known this before hand we would not have booked as we don't like pitchers, feel it ruins the cocktail. The pitcher cocktails didn't taste very nice either to strong or to much juice. We did have a espresso martini made in a glass which was the best drink of the evening. I did also have to go to the bar to ask for another drink as the night went on and it got busier, service got very slow. The food sharer board was great and everything was very tasty. The live band was brilliant and made a good atmosphere. Unfortunately we would not return purely due to the cocktails being in jugs!
The Malthouse – TelfordWas rather disappointed. We had booked bottomless brunch. Had to wait to be seated and over an hours wait for food to be delivered to table. The drinks did keep coming. Even if one did end up thrown over us when being served at the table! To be honest the quantity of food is disappointing. Fortunately there were four of us so we shared however would say that portion sizes are extremely poor based on the costs. The food itself was tasty just not adequate.
The Swan At Ironbridge – TelfordGood service and atmosphere. Disappointing portion size for the Pit Master Feast featuring 1/4 chicken, half a white sausage that wasn’t smoked, 4 tiny baby backed ribs and 1 slice of Texas Brisket, no beans and masses of cheap coleslaw for just under £30.
The Swan At Ironbridge – TelfordBirthday meal for our family January & February birthdays . 8 of us and our little baby granddaughter. Food was great - been several times and always enjoyed . Total order including mains/sides/starters - one meal incorrect but came back corrected fairly quickly. Staff generally lovely but the girl who took our order wasn’t the friendliest. However the girl who did drinks order was lovely so was the guy who brought the food to us. Had gone to great effort to take a surprise cake to celebrate prior to the meal - my partner went and asked for it to come out - disappointing that a waitress came to the table and said to my partner ‘do you want the cake bringing out in the box’ - in front of everyone. Wasn’t the end of the world - but a lesson to be learned I feel. Surprise - failed. In general a good time was had and we will return.
The Swan At Ironbridge – TelfordWe met for a birthday lunch with friends. The chicken pie was fab, we would definitely recommend. Fish and chips also great, and husband said his burger was spot on. Good value for money and the staff were friendly. Simple pub food cooked really well.
The White Hart – IronbridgeTook my family for afternoon tea. The food was freshly prepared. The sandwiches where tasty and the cakes and scones where delicious. In fact, we had to take home a goodie box. However, the let down was no tea provided. I requested some for five people but only got a pot for two cups. The mugs provided where dirty and I had to give them back. They could only give me four cappuccino cups and a cleaned mug back and still didn't get anymore tea. And I was charged for the tea. So not a full experience for the charge stated. The staff where lovely and helpful but seemed to be very busy.
The Bull – ShrewsburyFood was good, the presentation was great. Only critique the jacket potato was a little dry and the initial meet and greet could be better. Overall a fantastic service and definitely worth a visit.
The Queens Head – OswestryLovely as always
The Queens Head – Oswestry4 of us dined there for lunch on 29th March 2025, the service was very good and friendly, the food was also very good - different from your usual pub food. The room could have been a little warmer as there didn't appear to be any heating on but overaul a very good experience and would recommend.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordVery welcoming and helpful staff, great service and good food.
