Visited Saturday evening for a birthday meal with 3 guests We had a great evening. The food was excellent, ample portions and extremely good service. All members of our party agreed with my above review We have booked for a return visit in November to celebrate another friends birthday. I can totally recommend this restaurant to any one

I dont usually write reviews but after some of the negative comments i had read i felt i had to. We went on a sunday and both had the roast dinner it was lovely so much we couldnt finish and the cauliflower was excellent. We couldnt find fault with the staff they were very friendly and efficient.

Very very disappointing. Website advertised new autumn menue - it wasn't. Had beetroot & feta salad, beetroot wad that hard you couldn't put a fork in it. Main course was chicken balloting, about 1/3rd of a chicken breast with stone cold cappage & bacon with lumpy mash. Complained at the time, they knocked off the mash. Husband said his pie was nice. Enough said won't be back.

I visited The Queens Head some months ago to meet up with a canal-borne friend. We had a splendid lunch, so it was a natural choice for another with a business friend. He was equally impressed. I shall doubtless be back again.spon

A really smashing pub with great food. We usually go on a Sunday for lunch. I like the fact that as we are elderly they let us have the smaller meal from the children’s menu. The staff are all excellent and went out of their way to accommodate my husband after he had dental surgery and couldn’t eat properly. Cannot recommend The Water Rat highly enough.

We regularly come here for a Sunday roast, as it's one of the best in the area. Furniture could do with replacing, and decor needs a bit of TLC, but we go for the food, not so much the decor. Always plenty of staff working.

Absolutely amazing!! Excellent in every way, superb starter of seafood, all delicious, then beautiful perfectly cooked fish, deboned so well, not one even small bone in the whole dish! Fresh Bass, steamed with lemongrass, chilli, spring onions, and many other herbs and spices, a really beautiful meal, we love eating here, very highly recommend

Myself, my husband and two step daughters visited for an afternoon tea. It's our forth time. The staff are very friendly and the food is gorgeous, nothing is too much trouble. Would recommend to anyone.

Booked the afternoon tea through groupon food was very good and a nice change from your standard afternoon tea. Service was good

The food is outstanding with a few really tasty specials on the board too. This is a regular restaurant for us but we took some Guests from Australia who were very impressed. Jo is an excellent front of house and always makes you feel welcome. The Crispy Belly Pork and Cod Red Curry are superb and highly recommended.
