This is a fine old pub with a friendly atmosphere and good service. We enjoyed an excellent meal there for our pre-Christmas get-together - they have a good chef!

Sage and Vine – CarlisleA warm welcome received and great service given. We both enjoyed the Scrooge pie, which we had served with chips rather than mash. An example of how individual preferences are catered for.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeFood, beer and service was usual high standard. Fully appreciate the financial pressures on the hospitality industry however, food prices have crept up to the level where as a retired person they are becoming unaffordable. Can I suggest maybe offering small plates so those of us with smaller budgets and appetite are able to continue enjoying this fantastic pub.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeAbout the third or fourth time I’ve been here. Never disappointed. First time I’ve booked for a small group. All went very smoothly. Food, as it has always been previously, absolutely scrummy! Loved my own food choices but also had food envy for others’ choices!
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleBrilliant value for money and food was excellent.
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleVery friendly and helpful service. Traditional food and portions sizes good. Would definitely go back. My partner wanted a Cumberland sausage for his birthday hence choosing the Pheasant- excellent.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickWe had an excellent meal last night at the Horse and Farrier in Dacre to celebrate my birthday. We were looked after by Charlotte and Emma who were attentive and friendly. We never eat anywhere else now on our visits to Wayermillock.
Horse and Farrier – PenrithWe regularly visit Keswick in our motorhome. The pheasant is always our fist place to have dinner. It did not disappoint. The food is amazing and what friendly helpful staff it has. A must if your in the area
Pheasant Inn – KeswickExcellent lunch and service. Really enjoyed the lamb curry but I can’t recommend the rhubarb sorbet which tasted of soap!
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeA good meal in very pleasant surroundings. The potted shrimps were delicious, as was the Sticky Toffee Pudding and the choice of clotted cream is always a delight. Lovely staff, too. Worth a visit!
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeExcellent pub and restaurant. Nothing overly fancy - just excellent food, well cooked and presented - and at a reasonable price. Staff very friendly as well and there's a pleasant, cordial atmosphere which all adds to the experience. As Arnie says: "I'll be back"...
Pheasant Inn – KeswickA return visit to Penrith last week and we again picked Grant's for our evening meal. Lovely food on a small and select menu. We weren't disappointed in our choices and the wines were also exceptionally good. The restaurant is really worth stopping at if you're passing through the area.
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithVisited The Pheasant with my wife last night! We have been before and always find the standard of food to be excellent! The staff are friendly and give a great service, and the pub has a really nice atmosphere! We’ve already booked our next visit and would highly recommend to anyone thinking of giving it a try!
Pheasant Inn – KeswickHad a lovely evening meal for two. Friendly staff and even moved us to larger table for a bit more room. Our meals were really nice and tasty.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickA return for us to this restaurant as we visited previously to Carlisle and enjoyed a last minute meal but this time we had it organised. Staff attentive and its a lovely cosy and busy restaurant at times. Did have a bit of bother signing up for the table but otherwise I phoned to check they had booking ok. Food was excellent and would definitely would go again when we are down.
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleExcellent meal, friendly staff, highly recommended
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithSunday roast exactly as you would wish it to be! We were staying overnight and as always our breakfast was delicious. We will be returning again in the new year.
