Adriano’s Italian Restaurant – CarlisleFirst time visit and won't be the last! Food and service excellent. Good selection of beer and wine Will definitely recommend to friends
Horse and Farrier – PenrithRecommend to us, and didn’t disappoint. Food was excellent and homemade. The place was busy, yet our service was perfect. Definitely need to book, and we will certainly return on our next visit to Keswick
Pheasant Inn – KeswickVisited for Sunday lunch after hearing lots of good reviews and was not disappointed. The food was a delicious and plenty of it. The beef was beautiful, and the Yorkshire puddings were as big as the plate.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickFood quality AVERAGE, nowhere as good as 2/3 years ago. Menu LIMITED with less choice than previously. SERVING staff initially off hand ( new person I guess) but improved and were pleasant as the meal progressed. COST quite high. Would be acceptable for a top class dinner but nowhere near that. FACILITIES - gents toilet did not flush properly and the wc was scruffy. I reported the flushing issue and was advised it was a common problem. There is better food in Grasmere, and similar quality at lower prices.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereStunning food, brilliant service. Highly recommended
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleWe had an excellent meal at Adriano's as a group of 3. We recommend the Garlic Pizza as a starter. The pasta was good but not fresh. The service was pleasant and prompt . The value for money was good.
Adriano’s Italian Restaurant – CarlisleExcellent food and good service. We enjoyed our visit very much. Be aware that much of the restaurant is accessed by a short flight of stairs with a chair lift.
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithGood quality food and atmosphere. Had meant to try the restaurant on previous visits. Glad we came this time. Pork Belly and steak dishes were both delicious and generous portions too. Good to see locally sourced food. They were very aware on allergies - good to see. Would recommend.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereExcellent meal, friendly staff
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleWhat a gem in Keswick. The food is superb. Locally sourced and cooked to perfection. Portions are very good. A great choice of dishes on the main menu with specials too. The Sunday lunch is to behold, yorkshire puds like a chefs hat! Just go, fabulous place, but leave me a place.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickAs returning customers, where we had previously had a very good experience, we were slightly disappointed this time.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickHadn’t been to the Wheatsheaf for a while and was a bit put off by the same menu of old. But the meals we had were delicious I had the chicken burger, crispy, tasty and freshly cooked and my husband had the cheeseburger and really enjoyed it. Delicious chips. We both had the Affogato for dessert which was really nicely presented and delicious. Great service friendly and efficient. Great choices of wine. A great evening out!
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeWe came for my birthday. Starters were lovely especially my halloumi which was simple but well presented and delicious. Unfortunately my main course was the opposite. I ordered the beef fillet stroganoff with rice and greenbeans. I did not expect the beef to be an intact fillet as I wasn't asked how I wanted it cooked. The fillet was well done ( I would have requested medium rare) , the rice was an obvious mush so I left most of it, and the vegetables of broccoli and carrots were overcooked. When asked about how we were enjoying the meal I did say that I hadn't expected the fillet to be wholeand that for me it was overcooked for which I received a brief apology and was brought some sugarsnaps when I mentioned that there were no beans ( again overcooked). I forgot to mention the rice but it was evident at the end that I had left most of it. Had the restaurant not been so small and intimate I would have made more of a fuss as I felt that my meal was definitely of a poor quality and at the very least we should have been offered some kind of discount. I left feeling extremely disappointed
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereExcellent food, friendly helpful staff. Lovely atmosphere , will definitely be back
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereI like this place. The people are very accommodating, the service is decent, the drinks are cold and the food is good.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickAfter making an advanced booking online we arrived to find that the vegetarian menu had been altered from the current menu, not updated online til very recently, so the choice had been minimised considerably. We were left in a position of having to find a meal elsewhere on the evening, which wasn’t ideal.
