We always eat here at least twice when we holiday in the area. The food is always of a high standard and delicious. The online booking system is simple to use. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the pub has a great atmosphere nestled in the village of Dacre. A definite choice if you are in the area.

A wow factor was the dessert, Pistachio Afragato with Tiramisu icecream with hot espresso coffee ☕️to drizzle. 200yds back to the train to home. A great day. See you all again. CxJ

La Mezzaluna – CarlisleMade to feel very welcome and the service was excellent. Very friendly. The food was delicious and plenty of it. Very good value for money. The only disappointment was the decor. A bit grey and drab. But this is only a minor niggle. Would visit again
The Manor Inn – St BeesThe quality of the food is outstanding. Clearly a chef who is imaginative and understands how to blend flavours into delicious dishes along with visually stunning presentation. Staff are friendly and welcoming and on a summer’s evening, the view from the beer garden was the icing on the cake.
Horse and Farrier – PenrithDelicious food and friendly and efficient service in a homely atmosphere. We were a party of 5 including 2 vegetarians and we couldn’t fault the food, and enjoyed the banter with the team. Definitely recommend .
Pheasant Inn – Keswick4 adults. We had a table booked. There was a large Alzheimer’s group in. We were warned there might be a delay. One hour before we got our starters. This was not a problem as we weren’t in a hurry. Starters were poor presented badly. All four mains were very poor and was badly presented pub grub. My son said it was the worst meal he’d ever had.
