Beautiful meal , lovely atmosphere and great drinks!

From the moment we walked in to the bistro, we were very well looked after. Staff were attentive without imposing. Every course was outstanding in both presentation and flavour. We had a wonderful evening and look forward to returning in the future.

Great evening Fantastic food Definitely worth a visit

We had a lovely meal. The pub was busy with a great atmosphere. The staff were welcoming and attentive despite being so busy. We visit every year and always receive excellent service, especially from Keith who is so friendly. We had beautifully cooked lamb shank and the best sticky toffee pudding. Can’t wait to return again soon.

Food was tasty and hot..unfortunately the service on the evening we visited let them down and stopped us from booking again. Appeared to be too many bookings for the team to cope with and mistakes happened.

We now book this place before we book local accommodation! Delicious home cooked food, relaxed atmosphere, good value.

My friend and I had afternoon tea on 8th November. It was excellent We thoroughly enjoyed it. Lovely atmosphere.

Mid-week lunch at The Wheatsheaf was a delightful experience, both as regards the excellent menu choice and cuisine (compliments to the chef!), but also for the welcome, which began with a notice in the pub car park, and continued with the attentive service inside. A great introduction to the village of Beetham

This was my second time at the Pheasant and we were disappointed . Urgency to order drinks before getting a chance to look at the menu - three requests from waiters in the space of several minutes . Food under whelming . Pastry on the beef pie was thick and quite wet . Chips looked and tasted like frozen chips and gravy had little taste . Venison was a little better. Prices expensive . Ordered a peroni beer which was priced at not much over 5.00 but paid more on the bill as I was given a pint . Had I known I would have said a small peroni as per the drinks menu . Deserts also expensive . It’s a pub after all. So by sadly doubt we will return .

Second visit but underwhelmed this time . Beef pie had an over thick pastry and was soggy . Gravy lacked taste . Chips tasted and looked like frozen ones . Venison was a little better but not great . Red wine was poor despite the price . Given a large Perini- when I asked for the one on the drinks list so paid more . All items were expensive for pub food . Long wait for food too . Doubt we will be back .

Good quality tasty food with a varied menu and enticing specials. Wide selection of drinks. Cosy, friendly atmosphere and the staff were excellent - very welcoming, efficient and personable. You could tell that they were part of a team who looked after each other and took pride in looking after customers. We will be back!

Booked a table second sitting. Service polite and friendly in this family owned bistro. Hummus and tasty pitta bread to start. (We shared) Hubby had beef stroganoff with rice. Tasty and cooked to order. I had sea bass and had fondant potato rather than new potatoes. Sadly no samphire left so extra veg were provided. Belly pork was off the menu as it must have been popular in the first sitting. We shared a cheesecake as we were very full. Delicious. Lovely comfortable chairs and nice atmosphere. Would suggest more low key music to better represent the bistro as it did get quite loud and rocky which was a shame. Lovely meal. We will return. Thank you.

We ate at The Manor on three evenings while staying in St Bees with various people, one vegan. The food was really good, especially the roast on Sunday for the meat-eaters and with smaller portions available for those of us who wanted them. If we lived locally we would certainly use it regularly, friendly, helpful staff and a warm atmosphere.

Excellent lunch... as usual! Napoletana pizza is amazing! As was the steak one! Thank you xx

A very enjoyable experience. Fortunately, the wife and I prefer an early evening dinner which was just about available! This is a very busy pub. The meal was pipping hot and there was plenty of it. We are due back next September and will book in for dinner again.
