Great food, and excellent service. The perfect venue for a pre-cinema meal. Will definitely be back.

Great food, and excellent service. The perfect venue for a pre-cinema meal. Will definitely be back.
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleWe had a wonderful time at Augill castle when we went to afternoon tea. There were 10 in our party and the staff were very accommodating, supplying extra tea and coffee and really helpful with dietary requirements even preparing alternative food due to tomato allergy. The staff were extremely friendly and they helped to make our visit memorable. The surroundings were superb and the grounds delightful. We will definitely be returning next year. (This is our third visit)
The Music Room Restaurant at Augill Castle – Kirkby StephenOk for a local pub, the service was friendly and the food was ok. Don't order the pizzas on the kids meal, its more like cheese on toast but not with proper cheese. The portion sizes are generous, the ketchup satchets were not! The veg accompanying the pies were not cooked properly, they were very hard and not tasty. The decor in general was a bit tired and dated. No old school pub charm, just in need of a lick of paint.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickWanted a good quality, not too large, meal with a nice bottle of wine. Grants hit the bullseye. Good value for money and attentive service.
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithYet another lovely afternoon tea at Augill. Always love going there. It's like being welcomed into a friend's home. The staff are all lovely and attentive and the food delicious. There's always something different on the afternoon tea from interesting savouries to a range of mouthwayering desserts. It's dog friendly too which makes it more of a reason to keep going back
The Music Room Restaurant at Augill Castle – Kirkby StephenGreat food, friendly service. Seven of us for Sunday lunch and everything was spot on.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickWe had a fantastic family meal on Sunday evening to celebrate being together before our daughter leaves for Canada for a year. The food was excellent with plenty of variety. Service was superb as always. Special note was the wood pudge on starter and duck breast main. Steak was melt in the mouth. Desserts were also outstanding.
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithGreat meal Prompt friendly service in an informal Bistro setting Thoroughly recommend
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereThe food was brilliant- almost too good for the venue! From the outside the place looks a bit shabby; scruffy looking beer garden, bad music pumping out…etc and inside was a bit cramped, tables a bit sticky, more bad music, tired toilets… etc so our expectations were low for the meal. However, the Sunday roast was one of the best I’ve had; meat cooked perfectly, great veg, superbly presented; all delicious and the puddings were incredible too! The venue just needs to up its game to match the quality and standard of the meals.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickThis was gorgeous food, we had the chicken and the steak and it was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. It was beautifully seasoned, great portions and delicious. Highly recommend
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithThe food was great but it took a long time to come and two couples who arrived after us received their food first . I don’t mind that but I think it would have been courteous to let us know that our meal would take longer to prepare . We were informed of this when the meal finally arrived but that was too late .
The Netherwood Hotel and Spa – Grange-over-SandsFood unreal. Service Fantastic. I recently moved here from Teesside and the only thing I miss is the perfect roast! This place offers the Perfect roast. The lovely young girl serving was credit to you. Up selling extras and doing regular check backs. I think she was from Liverpool. The place itself is quaint and quirky and everybody at work looked to be having fun. We did order a desert but didn’t receive it because we had to leave nothing at all to do with timings etc we just had a call and had to leave. Will definitely be back every Sunday and may even stay the Sunday night with the promotional offer you have displayed. Thank you for a lovely meal xxxx
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeLovely food as always. Very friendly staff. Was lovely to be recognised, even though we only go around 3 times a year. Will keep going back as I can't fault it. A little gem.
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleFantastic first time being here☆☆☆☆☆ Staff very polite and instant services Smiles and great atmosphere
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleExcellent food, Great atmosphere
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereFirst time at Grant’s and we enjoyed it very much. Plenty of choice on the menu, and the dishes we chose were imaginative, well cooked and nicely presented. Having said that, we found the starters a bit small for the price charged. Main courses were better in that respect. The atmosphere in the downstairs area was a bit lacking, and we would probably opt to sit upstairs next time.
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithHad a lovely lunch here during a day trip to Carlisle. We had booked ahead, and were glad we did as the place was busy! This is clearly popular with the locals. The food was amazing - we had the risotto pollo and fusilli calabrese. We also shared a dessert. Wow. Gorgeous!! We will certainly return here - and bring friends who share our love of good food. Staff were friendly and fun. Service was quick but not rushed.
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleFirst visit to the restaurant, we liked the menu choices so booked . Lovely ambience, great service & the food was excellent. Definitely recommend.
