Just spent a lovely weekend in Keswick, we actually had dinner on both evenings at the Pheasant. I would definitely recommend this place, great food, nice atmosphere. Good size portions, really nice traditional pub with lovely staff. We will definitely be back.

We stopped at the Queens head Inn , Penrith, on the way back from Dundee as a last minute stop. A beautiful pub, staff were warm friendly and very welcoming and we sat near the cosy real wood fire , which was perfect for the freezing cold evening. My husband had a hearty home made steak and ale pie with seasonal veg and gravy , I had the 2 course valentine deal for £19.99 chicken wings to start and steak with a delicious peppery gravy. It was definitely a good choice and would definitely recommend this pub if you're looking for good quality home cooked delicious food with a warm welcome.

First time we have visited and would definitely recommend. Great selection on the menu.

Went Valentines day,great food and service

I have to say I was surprised at just how good the food was, most pub type restaurants are all very similar in the Lake District. What’s on offer on their menus, the quality of the food served & the price. Here the menu was a special one for Valentine’s Day but the regular menu was still available. I’d say it was maybe a little more expensive than the standard LD pub restaurants, but my god was it worth every penny. We had the special sharing rump steak dish, which was cooked to perfection as was the accompanying vegetables with a very tasty gravy. The food was divine & they obviously had a very talented chef, the service was also excellent from the team of young lady’s working that night. Also the red wine of the month was so good too. I highly recommend anyone thinking of eating here to try it, I’m sure you will not be disappointed.

Food was fantastic as always, staff always great of the mark cleaning plates and asking for drinks only thing let it down was clearly issue between a couple of staff members as with us siting by the bar we could feel the tension

Paying a visit to the Lakes we wanted somewhere special to dine out one evening. The website and menu looked really good so a booking was made. I have to say that we fell lucky. A great place for an evening meal with superb food and excellent service. It’s unfortunate that we live so far away otherwise Grants of Castlegate, to give it its full title would be our “go to place.”

Our second visit and just as brilliant as we remembered. Great choice of classic food with amazing steak and stout pie made in house. We love the atmosphere that only an old English inn provides, from the warming log fire to the chunky old tables and chairs. It’s very comforting and welcoming and a great place to come for some delicious food. Can’t wait to visit again.

one of the best meals I've had in a long time. We both loved the friendly welcome and the cosy setting. The food was delightful - my sea bass was cooked to perfection and the accompanying veg were really good, not overly crunchy as appears to be the modern way. Just wish Grasmere was a bit closer - we'd be there once a week! Thank you - we've had quite a few mediocre meals recently and this was outstanding.

We had an excellent meal on Saturday evening. The food was excellent as was the service. We would definitely recommend this restaurant and will visit next time we are in Grasmere. Plus they are dog friendly.

Fantastic meal at La Mezzaluna, as a regular diner at the restaurant it never lets you down, delicious food and great staff/service - will see you again soon.
