We went to Lewis’s bistro for dinner on the 24th of October. The food was generally good and the portions were a good size, but there was a lack of attention to detail that spoiled it a little - a length of string left on my partner’s pork belly and lots of bristles left on mine. My partner mentioned the string to a member of staff but she was completely disinterested. Wine was overpriced and not particularly well kept but a decent selection. Service was very prompt, too much so in fact, we had finished starter and main within around 45 minutes of sitting down and were asked immediately if we’d like dessert. Had they waited a while longer, we might have fancied something. The other issue we had was that the tables either side of us went while we were eating and, rather than waiting until the section was clear, they started spraying and wiping down the tables while we were finishing off our mains - quite off-putting to be honest, and unnecessary since there no other sittings arrived. Could have been great and hopefully they will take the comments on board!
