Kings Arms – UlverstonNice cosy pub, and friendly service. Great to see lots of choices for gluten and lactose/dairy intolerance; and the food was excellent! I didn't have the brownie for pudding as I was already full of delicious fish and chips, and GF brownie is so often dry and hard, but my other half did, and it was reportedly very good - soft and squidgy, just like it should be. Will definitely eat there again if the opportunity arises!
Queens Head Inn Tirril – PenrithWe enjoyed a lovely lazy Friday lunch in the Badger Bar with friends. The food is always good, the people are always friendly and welcoming. I can thoroughly recommend the Cumberland sausage and mash.
Glen Rothay Hotel and Badger Bar – RydalGreat food well presented and hot it's just a lovely place to eat central of town . Staff friendly cheerful and attentive.
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleService was very good - staff very attentive. Food was lovely and portions very generous. Only downside, was dining area a little cold and dark for the time of year, maybe consider an electric wood burner (would give nice effect)

Pheasant Inn – KeswickWhat a great experience. Staff were excellent, young lady made suggestions for wine to fit around our differing tastes her recommendations were "bang on", Lady that took orders was brilliant and accommodating with our requests. Food was faultless starters and main, no room for desserts. Will definitely be re-visiting .
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleExcellent meal (steak pie, fresh nicely cooked vegetables, mash, gravy..) very tasty. Good , quick, & pleasant service by waitress. Thank you.
Glen Rothay Hotel and Badger Bar – RydalWent along as a family of three, with each ordering a different meal. The ale pie and nut loaf were both generous and flavourful. The roast of the day, although delicious, was a little dry. Would definitely return.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeWe booked a table for 5 for 3rd December, right in the middle of that the Cumbrian snow burst!! This cozy ancient beamed pub was the ideal place to spend the evening. We all enjoyed tasty traditional roast suppers and the service was friendly and efficient. The beer was't up to much though!
Queens Head Inn Tirril – PenrithMy wife & I enjoyed Sunday lunch there yesterday, holidaying in the area over the weekend. It was busy, which is always a good sign, there was a good number of staff, friendly & efficient, drinks to the table, acceptable short wait for our meal, a very good roast beef dinner and festive turkey dinner. Low alcohol/alcohol free beers available - we had Erdinger and Peroni. Very impressed for our first visit. It's dog friendly too, if you want to take your pooch. Free parking just across the road.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeGood menu choices, including some unusual options. Excellent quality food, and attentive service. Friendly atmosphere, and cosy bar with log fire.
