Friendly village pub. Very good food. Landlady’s own recipe for delicious steak and ale pie. Took us back to caravan site after dinner!

Greyhound Inn Cotehill – CarlisleGreat small restaurant with a good varied menu and wine list. Attentive service. Good value. Highly recommended.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereVisited on Tuesday 3rd October at 7.30pm and received a warm welcome. The meal was fantastic and plentiful. Reasonably priced as well. When in Keswick give the Pheasant a visit. You won't be disappointed. I would personally rate it the best pub/restaurant for food and drink in Keswick.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickGreat food & atmosphere Staff always friendly and efficient
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleOutstanding food! I am a first-time visitor to this region. I’m from Texas and I expected to be eating a lot of fish n chips and Shepherd’s Pie. The food is such a lovely surprise! I had the French Onion Soup—we totally mess this up in the States with the giant gloop of cheese we smother the soup with. I loved the simple richness of the broth and just the right amount of bread and cheese. The Grasmere rack of lamb was tender and succulent with an excellent t sauce of red wine with just the right touch of mint. But the dessert!!! Oh my yummy goodness !!! The Sticky Toffee Cake with fresh cream is a culinary delight that I will miss greatly! My wonderful meal was complimented with a beautiful Spanish red wine.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereThis beautiful restaurant was a great find. The staff were delightful and went out of their way to make sure you got exactly what you wanted. The food presentation was beautiful and tasted delicious. On the whole a most enjoyable evening. We would highly recommend it.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereMy wife and I went for Sunday Lunch which was fabulous. Lovely pub, great staff excellent food and drink. We always try to call in for a meal when in Keswick
Pheasant Inn – KeswickFish & Chips excellent Sticky Toffee Pud excellent Roast Beef mains average Great attentive staff & not expensive Generslly a very pleasant experience
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeExcellent food, good beer. Unfortunately we were the only people dining so atmosphere was missing. Waitress was good at serving but required training on wine list etc.
General Burgoyne – UlverstonAmazing meal as always at the Pheasant. Specials Board is always a great option. Updated menu has some great new additions. Best food pub in Keswick in my opinion. Never disappoints and very friendly attentive staff make it an enjoyable visit.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickStayed on the Sunday Special, good value at £109 for dinner bed and breakfast. Quaint village in the countryside despite being minutes from a busy road. Very dog friendly.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeHad Sunday Lunch yesterday with my husband and 2 friends, the roast beef was of good quality, and tasted really lovely, vegetables presented in a bowl were plentiful with lots to choose from, the cauliflower cheese was especially good, can’t really fault the actual lunch. We felt rather let down due to the fact that there was only one dessert on offer, we felt a choice of maybe 3 items would be good, even if one of the items was ice cream, it is always nice to follow savoury with sweet, I know there was cake on offer, but cake is not a dessert, hence I can’t give a 5 out of 5 for the food.
Harry’s Cafe Bar at Yew Tree Barn – Grange-over-SandsAbsolutely amazing as always
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleThe food at this restaurant was amazing. I had the best macaroni cheese that I had ever tasted. I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereAmazing! Food quality is beyond pub food, more restaurant quality. Great atmosphere. Great service with a wide choice on the menu. We always make a point of visiting and cannot wait to return next time we are in Keswick.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickGiven expense of menu we had high expectations. I had a black pudding starter but it had quite a tough skin. My husband had cod. He would have preferred the skin to have been crispy. My chicken was lovely but again would have benefited from crisp skin. The puddings were too big for us and too sweet. The sticky toffee pudding was a little too caramelised for our tastes. It's a pleasant enough bistro but we did feel packed in like a sardine which impacted on privacy and conversation.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereOur second visit to this wonderful pub and another superb meal. Great atmosphere, reassuringly busy (which is always a good sign I think!) and excellent service. Food is delicious but 3 courses can be tricky with the portion sizes, you need to be hungry..
Pheasant Inn – KeswickHad a lovely meal at The Pheasant Inn in Keswick. We will definitely be back next time we're in the Lakes.
