As always, a beautiful meal in cosy surroundings, friendly staff and great value for money. We always make a point of visiting the Pheasant Inn whenever we are in the Lakes.

Service is always fantastic! They made it extra special for our friends birthday. The food is always so lovely at such a good price!

Over the past few years, when in Keswick, we have always looked forward to our meal at the Pheasant. This year however, for the first time, we were disappointed. We all selected the meat pie as it has always been outstanding. This year there were no options regarding the sIze and the price was considerably more than we had experienced. The quality of the pastry was poor and the cost of our meal, always being the most competitive in the past was greatly increased. I know there have been huge increases in food prices but compared to other establishments that we visited, we felt that the Pheasant had failed to match up.The service from the lady who served us was excellent but despite this I don’t think we will visiting the Pheasant in the future, which is a great shame

What a wonderful friendly village pub. Nice to find a true Village pub with such a welcoming atmospher. Food was plentiful and really excellent too.

We made two visits in a week to the Pheasant Inn in Keswick and we were not disappointed either time. The first was for Sunday lunch. We booked online very easily and when we arrived we got a lovely warm welcome and were seated straight away. It didn't take long for the food to reach us even though they were quite busy. The staff were very friendly and helpful which created a great atmosphere. The food was wonderful (chicken and leek pie with chips and a huge perfectly cooked roast beef dinner) especially the creamed leeks and red cabbage. I have to say that it was the best Yorkshire pudding I've ever had in a pub restaurant. The next visit on the Thursday was just as welcoming though it was a lot busier. The food was perfect again (Cumberland sausage with mash and salmon on crushed new potatoes). It was very hard to choose as it was a very interesting and varied menu and all sounded delicious. We will definitely be back.

We had a fabulous meal at Lewis’s last night. It was beautifully cooked, every course was spot on. Atmosphere was warm and friendly. We have eaten there many times before and it was the usual high standard served by really nice staff.

Visited on Friday evening with our dog. Staff welcoming , food value for money, ambiance excellent, ordered the evening special Fish Chowder. Will visit again.

Great food (chef is great at the classics!), fantastic atmosphere, courteous and professional staff

We visit Grasmere once a year and this was our 5th visit to Lewis’s. Booked online for Wednesday 6:45pm - there was some issue with reminders being sent for reservations I’d never made or had confirmation for but that’s a tech issue, although I was told it was me! The food was as good as on previous visits but there was only one waitress on and she was under a lot of pressure at a busy time. - every table bar 1 was booked. Come 8 o’clock the place was almost empty. Enjoyed my meal - the black pudding starter and pork belly main were delicious but the atmosphere wasn’t the same as on previous visits. It all felt hurried and harassed.

We really enjoyed our meal at La Mezzaluna. The service was attentive but not intrusive, there was a homely and individual feel to the restaurant and the food was delicious. I would definitely recommend it and will visit again when we are next in the area. Thank you!

First time visiting Grants and have to say the food was excellent. Myself and a work colleague were staying locally for the one night and we will definitely be back. It was clean, staff were friendly, courteous and service faultless. We will be back!

Excellent food and service at competitive prices. The prawn cocktail and Fish pie were both very good with generous portions of quality ingredients.

We have eaten at the Wheatsheaf a couple of times recently, after a long absence due to a poor experience in the past. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the renovations, and the friendly welcome we received. There was a nice ambiance, with candles on the tables, and the service was friendly and relaxed. I recently had the battered plaice and chips, which was very tasty, and a generous portion, while my wife was very complementary about her roast dinner. The pale ale was good, but I thought overpriced at £6.50 a pint! On the whole, a very pleasant evening.

We stayed one night and had an evening meal and breakfast. The food was amazing and the choice at breakfast was brilliant - you don't often see avacado on toast with poached eggs as an alternative. The lentil curry with rice at night was the nicest I've ever had. We had stayed in two other hotels in the north west on previous nights and this was the best for food by far.

Lovely, friendly atmosphere and welcoming staff. We ate here on 2 consecutive nights as the menu was so good. We thoroughly enjoyed both meals. The sea bass fillets were cooked to perfection and the presentation was very good. Staff were extremely efficient and patient on both very busy nights. Will visit again when in the area.
