Baileys Bar and Restaurant – BuxtonWe had a great breakfast here yesterday. Our only point would be that the poached eggs looked like they’d been left waiting and the eggs were hard. As a norm I do prefer a runny poached egg. Overall this looks like we will be going here on a regular basis. Definitely would recommend this cafe.
Renishaw Hall and Gardens Cafe – ChesterfieldWe had a lovely meal at The Old Gate Inn. There were 7 of us, one with a peanut allergy, one with an allergy to shellfish and one vegan, and nothing was too much. Incredibly friendly staff. Have been several times before and would absolutely return.
The Old Gate Inn – MatlockI visited here a few months back and the Sunday Roast was AMAZING. This time much less so, sadly. The beef was of a much lower quality (too gristly) and volume (much less of it). Last time I visited I’d have given you 5 out of 5 all round but this time I can’t as quite simply it was disappointing. I’ll visit you again in a few months and hopefully you’ll repeat my first experience not second one. If you don’t, I will look elsewhere.
The Old Gate Inn – MatlockWhat a lovely pub! Great atmosphere and wonderful food. We all had a Sunday lunch & it was delicious. Also very good value. Highly recommended
The Old Gate Inn – MatlockFirst time we have dined here. Food mediocre. Service excellent. Value for money ….expensive for what was served. Will not be visiting again.
The Old Gate Inn – MatlockWe came to" Baileys" on Friday evening to celebrate my husband's Birthday. We loved everything about it,the restaurant had come highly recommended by our niece who had been a few weeks earlier. The food was amazing, service top notch,it was very busy and a great atmosphere...thankyou for a great night.
Baileys Bar and Restaurant – BuxtonWe went for lunch and were greeted by Ellie/Ella who was super friendly and efficient. The service was excellent and the food choices were good. We had the sharing platter and a couple of sides which were delicious. When we were leaving she asked what our plans were for later and suggested we come back to enjoy the live music. We were not disappointed! The atmosphere was brilliant and everyone was having a great time. Would definitely come again.
Baileys Bar and Restaurant – Buxton2nd time I have written a review for our visit, my first not published. I repeat, food very mediocre, chicken and leek pie, tasteless, soggy pastry produced in a microwave, a handful of chips and a green mush that was mixed vegetables ??? It seems that my views may have been shared by the dinners on the adjacent table who had food sent back to the kitchen. Staff excellent, very welcoming, the surroundings quaint, atmospheric, a super experience. Back to the food, expensive for what was served, the standard needs to be much higher. Ps Coffee was superb 10/10.
The Old Gate Inn – MatlockExcellent food, extremely friendly service, great price! Will be back again soon!
The Old Gate Inn – MatlockGreat food & good atmosphere…will definitely be back!!!
The Two Hares – GlossopFantastic meal in great surroundings. Service was top notch. Engaging and very friendly staff. Food was top quality. Three of us had the featherblade and one had fish and chips. All cooked to perfection. We shared starters of olives and whitebait. Attention to detail included warming the bowl for the olives! The best whitebait batter ever according to my brother-in-law! If you want a special meal go to the Two Hares. You will not be disappointed.
The Two Hares – GlossopA delicious meal in a lovely restaurant. The atmosphere is just right, the service was excellent and we had a great night out.
Baileys Bar and Restaurant – BuxtonBeautiful steaks! Really friendly service! We enjoyed our evening!
Baileys Bar and Restaurant – BuxtonHad an afternoon tea as a birthday treat and it was absolutely fabulous - The choices for the food were delicious -the room itself was so beautiful and the staff were all brilliant and really looked after us . I Will definitely visit again with my friends to treat them too Thank you all
Renishaw Hall and Gardens Cafe – ChesterfieldFabulous Sunday dinner - great choices and veggie and vegan options available. Staff very polite, efficient and friendly. Great place with a great atmosphere!
The Old Gate Inn – MatlockLovely village pub. Sunday lunch was delicious. We were hoping the fires would be lit but they weren’t, which was a bit of a shame as it was a very foggy, dank day
The Old Gate Inn – MatlockFood was excellent but they were very short staffed so service was slow. It was at least 20 minutes before we were asked what we would like to drink. The girl who was serving us was pleasant and friendly even though she was rushed off her feet. We had to go downstairs to pay the bill as no one came to us to see if we wanted anything else or offer to bring the bill. They need to look at staffing levels as it could put people off returning
