Great, well cooked and beautifully flavoured food served in generous portions in a lovely atmospheric old inn at decent prices. What top end pub grub should be.

The young staff were very friendly and attentive. We sat upstairs and there was a great ambience about the restaurant. The choice of menu was excellent as were our meals. We've never eaten there before but we definitely will return. Thank you for an enjoyable evening.

Absolutely amazing food, good sized portions and all at very reasonable prices! The steak was exceptional - especially with the hand cut chips.

We have 2 dogs and we are always welcomed warmly. The service is great and the menu range is excellent- caters for most dietary requirements. The food is excellent and the beer choices are ample !! We go each year when we visit, it’s a must visit!!

Lovely place but the meal wasn’t as nice as it normally was. I had roast beef dinner the potato was cold inside so I warmed it up with gravy. The veg was lovely and meat was nice. Just seemed a bit bland. Another guest had Parma but he left some of it saying that the chicken didn’t taste right and the topping was quite sickly. I must admit we didn’t complain as it was my daughter’s birthday and didn’t wasn’t to make a fuss. Service was a bit slow as we waited for an hour before we got any food

Excellent Sunday lunch beef cooked to perfection and also all the veg which there was plenty of service was very attentive but not too much in your face Would highly recommend but make sure you go hungry

Everything was superb in this restaurant, the staff, service, food and atmosphere. We would have eaten there the following evening but they were closed.

It was amazing

Second time here, and it certainly didn’t disappoint. We had three different roasts, and each of us really enjoyed our meals. The Yorkshire puds are so big they have their own postcode. Staff were super helpful and very nice. Sticky toffee is lovely. Reasonable prices. Well worth a visit.

Beautiful meal as always. Plenty of choice if not wanting traditional Sunday lunch. Staff are very efficient and friendly. The landlady is always chatty and friendly as well as keeping an eye on the detail.

We had the most wonderful evening at the White Gate - we have been several times before and the food has always been sensation - absolutely spoilt for choice , and really good value for the size portion you get. That aside, the team are wonderful. The service is not only excellent but personable and you leave feeling like one of the family. Keep doing what you are doing - we are very lucky to have this great place on our doorstep !

Enjoyed my Sunday lunch. Service from barman was particularly helpful on this occasion as enabled me to get a small take out for my poorly partner who could not attend.

One of the best Sunday lunches around! Very generous portions and the meats we had (beef and chicken) were so tender and full of flavour. There was plenty of veg for the both of us and it was cooked perfectly. Service was fantastic and all staff were so lovely and friendly.

Excellent Sunday dinner, and great service from all the staff will definetly return again someday for another meal.
