Tocketts mill is an excellent place for Sunday carvery, the food is excellent and the staff are very polite and helpful, highly recommend.

Lovely to meet the cats and the ladies. My granddaughters 19th birthday treat she said it was the best cat cafe she’s visited to date. Lovely atmosphere and cats were entertaining

From the website we were really excited to come here, especially after two nights of cold wet camping. On arrival staff were friendly, however we asked for a highchair when booking and were told they had none left once we arrived. Luckily we had a bench seat to sit on so was okay. Starters were nice, unfortunately the beef wasn’t great on the roast and the vegetables were quite mushy like they had been cooked a while ago and reheated. The rest of the food was good so we didn’t want to mention this to staff as they were so busy. The thing that made us quite uncomfortable was the way the manger (we think she was the manager) spoke to the rest of the staff. As we were seated in the bar area we overheard many conversations where staff were spoken to unfairly and these conversations were easy to hear from where we were sat which wasn’t nice to hear or for someone to be spoken to in that way. We are hoping it was just a stressful bank holiday weekend situation.

This is our second visit for a meet up with friends and both times have been really good. The food is tasty and hot, service is exemplary, we had a thoroughly good time.

Overall experience wasn't great, we got seated and the lady told us to start at the salad bar and she would be across to take our drinks order shortly. She forgot about us and we had to get up and ask for drinks as we had eating for around 20 minutes. When being served our meats one of the servers proceeded to put my fresh cut meat all over my side plate which has prawn shell all over it. Again got forgotten about when wanting to order another drink, when we asked to order pudding (again had to ask ourselves as we got forgotten about) nobody moved all of our dirty plates so asked for those to be moved. The maître d' just overall seem to be bothered about having a chit chat rather than serving & making sure everybody had what they needed. There was a lady and gentlemen behind us that had to ask to order pudding twice. We refused to give the service charge tip because of this.

Had a lovely family meal here last night (Sunday). Had a 3year old with us so went early (5pm) but the place soon filled up. Lovely setting, great staff. Had the all you can eat menu. Lots of choice, lovely fresh cooked food. No complaints from us. Would definitely go back and recommend.

Delicious food, fast and great service.

4th visit. Easy to book on line. Very friendly welcome. Food, vegan menu this time, was excellent. Good choice of wines and beers. Really relaxed atmosphere and no being rushed out when finished. (not expensive either)...

The meal was lovely and the service was good. The prices have increased a lot since we last came and the menu had changed, but we enjoyed our meal.

Our visit to The Maypole Inn was very enjoyable. Staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was welcoming and comfortable. Our meal was lovely, the steak was cooked to our liking and the sides were plentiful, in particular the home made chips which were lovely. We will definitely be back in the future possibly to stay a night in the inn.

Celebrated our wedding anniversary there had a fabulous meal. The fish money bag, had to be one of the top three meals I’ve ever eaten. Irish coffee also spot on

I've eaten here a few times., but this stood out as exceptional. The service, atmosphere and food were outstanding. Highly recommend this restaursnt and the tuna dish and lettuce lentil tacos were especially wonderful. Goes from strength to strength. Amazing

Had smoked fish cakes with a side of creamed spinach for lunch followed by sticky toffee pudding served with ice cream. Visited with a friend who had the same main and cheesecake to finish. Excellent food and the service was great. The staff were pleasant efficient and polite. The pub is beautifully decorated and feels very upmarket. Will definitely be going there again

Lovely meal in the restaurant. My husband chose the fish and chip special and i had the pork . The food was excellent served with a bowl of fresh vegetables. The staff are efficient and friendly. Would highly recommend.
