The Queens Head – OswestryHaving been to the Smokey Cow on several occasions before and compared the smoked meats to those I sampled whilst in the USA, I was thoroughly disappointed yesterday not only to be served cold roast dinners but to have to ask the waiting staff to wash their hands after witnessing her rummage around in her pants then heading to pick up my food. This was such a good restaurant, which previously served amazing meals and is truly disappointing to see how far the standards have dropped.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordGreat service meal was lush staff were so friendly and kind would recommend
The White Hart – IronbridgeExcellent food and very friendly and excellent service. We ordered the Sunday lunch and it was the best we have had for some time. The roasts and the vegetarian option were all generous portions and very tasty. We look forward to our next visit.
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyTook a chance on the Smokey Cow and happy to say we were all pleased with our choice. The venue has a warm and welcoming feel to it and the young man running front of house was polite and efficient. Food choice was plentiful with many of us struggling to narrow it down to one single meal. The meals themselves were lovely and all plates went back to the kitchen empty. Multiple drink orders were fulfilled quickly and we were tended to throughout. The small play area outside is in need of a little revamp, but if the venue has just been renovated then I understand this would be the last thing to be addressed. I would not hesitate to return here and can recommend it to all ages and group sizes.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordThe best Thai food for miles. Been a customer of Suree’s for many years when she was at King and Thai in Broseley. Consistently good and tasty. Will certainly continue to frequent this great little restaurant.
Suree’s Kitchen – IronbridgeAnother excellent evening at Suree’s. Great food in a cosy atmospheric restaurant. Nothing is too much trouble and all served professionally with a sprinkling of humour.
Suree’s Kitchen – IronbridgeStaff were very lovely and friendly. But the smell of cleaning fluid as we walked through the door was off putting. Very excited to see a smoked food section on the menu, until I was eating the smoked platter and couldn’t help but taste the smoking flavourings used instead of really smoking techniques. Very off putting.
The Swan At Ironbridge – TelfordWe dined at the gate on Thursday eve there wasn’t a lot of choice on the menu so we went for the steak I had a ribeye my husband had a sirloin they were very good the chips were nice we also wanted a bottle of red wine the wine we got was awful but there was not a lot of choice no decent wine was available will not go back
The Gate – ShrewsburyLily was serving us , she was very friendly and attentive. Great food .
The Smokey Cow – TelfordWe had afternoon tea at The Last Inn recently and we cannot fault the service or the food. The food was fresh, tasty and well presented and we were looked after well with great service. We would visit again!
The Last Inn – NewportGreat food but slow service when there was no one else in there.
The Last Inn – NewportWe were disappointed by our last meal at the Raven last Sunday night. The menu, although the stationary was new, was the same as... could it be the last 3 years? We had heard that there was a new chef and hoped the food would be as good as before. It was not too busy that evening. After we placed our food order, there was a long wait. Most meals were tasty and well presented, except mine: I had a roast vegetable skewer with yoghurt and mint sauce. Although I was the last to be served, the vegetables were not cooked, just slightly charred on the outside and the sauce only appeared 10 minutes after I had started eating, to join the others. Later on, we wanted to order a second round of drinks and the waitress said she would be right back to take our order. She never came back so we did not order second drinks. We decided to have pudding at home rather than risk more waiting. I told Kerry that we were disappointed by the service. She apologised and said one of the chefs had been taken to hospital with a fit. We wish we were told straight away, we would have been understanding.
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyConsistently brilliant! By far the best Thai food available anywhere in the UK. Suree is a genius chef and the front of house staff, especially Jo, are always welcoming, courteous and charming.
Suree’s Kitchen – IronbridgeService and staff were excellent. The food however wasn’t great at all. I would give the Sunday roasts a miss and maybe stick to basic pub food like chips and wraps etc. Very disappointed with the roast, the sirloin was very fatty, all the vegetables were undercooked the cauliflower cheese sauce was basically very runny yellow liquid and the gravy was worse just like thin brown water. Terrible really. I should have kept to a sandwich really.
The White Hart – IronbridgeLovely meal in pleasant surroundings.
The Golden Ball Inn – TelfordWe booked at short notice via the website, staff were welcoming and friendly even though I’m sure they had had a very busy day. We were served swiftly And food was delicious
The Queens Head – OswestryI received a very warm welcome when I visited the Water Rat with two friends for lunch last Thursday.
