The Golden Ball Inn – TelfordHad an afternoon tea in the swan taphouse ironbridge never had a hot afternoon tea before totally wonderful meat was superb and the rest was just as Good unlimited tea and coffee what a lovely wedding anniversary present off our children.
The Swan At Ironbridge – TelfordFood was excellent and service was very good. Unfortunately our prebooked table was in the dog friendly part along with 2 seperate tables with very young babies and dogs. We are dog owners ourselves but would have liked the option to be sat in a different area.
The Queens Head – OswestryHaving walked past Suree’s Kitchen for that last 15 years we were finally lured in by Suree’s wonderful accolade as Midland’s Chef of the Year. And what a pleasant surprise it was to get a Thursday evening booking. The food was delicious and we were made to feel most welcome. Thank you.
Suree’s Kitchen – IronbridgeMy second visit here and both have been superb. The best food!! Friendly staff More than reasonable prices A little gem in Shrewsbury
Ribeye Shrewsbury – ShrewsburyThursday, fish night, enjoyed it so much. A friendly, busy, chatty and very relaxed atmosphere. Really, really good food. Fresh crunchy calamari followed by sea bass, clams and shrimp. Light fresh and tasty. Excellent service and good chat with the front of house team throughout. And then, Chef Suree (Midlands Chef of the Year 2026) and Chef Dan took the time to catch up with customers and get feedback on the evening's service. Superb!
Suree’s Kitchen – IronbridgeWe enjoyed an excellent afternoon tea with prosecco in the excellent historic surroundings of the Swan Tap House. So different from traditional sandwiches, the hot, tasty food is delicious. Having ice cream with the chocolate brownie, warm scone, jam & cream was an extra treat! Very accommodating with my allergies too. Nice to be able to park, enjoy the view from the window looking at the river. Our waiter very helpful.
The Swan At Ironbridge – TelfordCalled for lunch/ main meal on a hot Friday afternoon. The staff were attentive and efficient. My wife had the Paella which was superb and more than plentiful. I chose the crab fritter starter which was okay but nothing to write home about. My choice of mains, a specials board, Angelsey mussels in cream, white wine and garlic was excellent. The mussels were well cooked but bang average. The sauce however was something else! Put it in casks and sell over the bar! I would happily drink that all day! Desserts were fine but obviously not home made. All in all a decent outing if a little over the odds locally on price.
The Queens Head – OswestryAmazing food as usual, can not fault it at all. Highly recommend this cozy restaurant but only to share with loved ones as it is special.
Suree’s Kitchen – IronbridgeSimply the most idyllic garden it was so beautiful
Water Rat – IronbridgeWe dropped in on this place on the chance they had a table. We were told we couldn’t order food by dropping in, so we had to book whilst sitting outside for a table at 16:30pm at 16:20pm - it wasn’t busy. We’re unsure why we needed to do this. Staff were friendly. The food was disappointing. The burger was clearly not made from fresh mince. It tasted very much like a burger from a van you would buy from at a fun fair, shaped perfectly round as a frozen burger would be. It was laden with mayonnaise so I had to eat it with a knife and fork and there was a wait of 45 mins from ordering. On the side there was a big portion of chips.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordAnother lovely Thai tapas yesterday. Every dish as nice and tasty as always. The meringue roulade just lovely and fried ice cream - mmmm.
Suree’s Kitchen – IronbridgeBirthday meal for 6. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Service was very good, especially from a lady named Tash who ensured everything went smoothly. Would definately return and recommend .
