Water Rat – IronbridgeIncredible food, one of the best burgers and beef brisket we have ever had! Service was lovely and food was quick. We were very happy with our first visit and can’t wait to return!
The Swan At Ironbridge – TelfordPart of a group bottomless brunch event. Got to taste all the cocktails in the 2hr time allocation. 7 in total, non of us tipsy, but we were served efficiently by a lovely staff member. Music great, too loud at start whilst wanting to talk however. Food portions small but really nicely cooked, no complaints on taste. Nice one off event, enjoyed overall.
The Malthouse – TelfordThe website needs updating. There is one whole menu that isn't available now, and on the main menu there are dishes no longer available, 2 of which were on our list to order. Because there was only 2 staff , the service was very very slow, on a Bank Holiday weekend on a busy Saturday afternoon. No management to talk to. We looked at 5 empty plates on our table for 35 minutes as we waited to order desserts!! The 2 guys working were nice and pleasant, very apologetic but absolutely rushed off their feet. We wi try here again as the food was great but the drinks were ok, as my beer was warm... how difficult can it be to have bottled beers in a fridge?
The Elephant Crossing – IronbridgeLovely pub, really friendly, helpful staff. Great food! Lovely atmosphere. Great wines too. Highly recommend.
The Bull – ShrewsburyWe had a nice welcome and we're quickly shown to our yable in the conservatory. The menu was good with so much to choice from. My sister had the duck and cherry sauce, which she said was beautiful. I had the gammon. It was juicy and well cooked, as was my sister's. We both enjoyed our meals
The Queens Head – OswestryIn the last year this has been one of our favourite places to eat with friends and family visiting. Eve was always an amazing host, wonderful food, cocktails, always a perfect evening dinner or Sunday lunch. This Saturday night was beyond disappointing.. we had pre booked being that it was Bank Holiday weekend. We arrived and waited 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged us being there, we were seated then after a further 15 minutes had to approach a member of staff for menus and drink list. We ordered a drink whilst we looked at food menu.. a further 15 minutes on and still no drinks or staff to take food order.. huge queue at the bar for drinks for outside seating area. We gave up in the end and had to go find somewhere else to eat Awful experience this time, will make us think about whether to book again Please bring Eve back!
The Elephant Crossing – IronbridgeLovely little restaurant with a nice garden overlooking the river for alfresco dining. Not the dining experience was expecting though. We ordered our drinks/food. Ten minutes later the waiter came back and asked us what our drinks order was again. Half hour after our drinks arrived we were told they had ran out of one of the small plates we had ordered so we had to choose another. We had been in the restaurant just over 1 hr before any food arrived on our table. Halfway through eating our small plate starters, one of our main course dishes was bought to the table and as we had waited so long for the first course we just accepted it. Then, we had finished what food we were given and were waiting for the plates to be cleared and the rest of our order to arrive but it never did. The restaurant started to slowly empty and we were asked if we wanted anything else, to which we replied, the rest of our order would be a good start but were then informed the kitchen had closed. They had basically forgotten about the rest of our order. So still hungry & to be fair to the staff without being charged by way of apology, we left the restaurant in search of somewhere else to eat as we were both still hungry. Overall, the food we did revive was very good but the service really let this place down and it means, I won't return and I will never recommend
The Elephant Crossing – IronbridgeGreat Sunday lunch. Food fresh and cooked well. Staff very nice and helpful. Deserts nice too.
The White Hart – IronbridgeBarstaff didn't know what a pink gin spritz was, our table wasn't ready, finally seated sat there with no menus, eventually got a menu, food slow, but nice and they messed up our bill trying to add on a table of six behind us two. Very very poor service indeed. So we won't be returning.
Water Rat – IronbridgeSunday Lunch meal was very nice, nice portion size and very reasonably priced, although a bit more veg and roast potatoes would have made it perfect. Nice atmosphere inside and outside in a great location in Ironbridge. Been here a few times for this very reason.
The Malthouse – TelfordAbsolutely fabulous Sunday lunch! Beautifully presented. Excellent value for money. Lovely setting.
The White Hart – IronbridgeWhilst on a short break from Yorkshire we decided to book a table at the Malthouse restaurant..The atmosphere at this place is excellent and all the staff very friendly..I ordered the sweet beef cheeks for a starter and must say it was one of the nicest things I've ever eaten...my wife also enjoyed both starter and main as I also did..Look forward to eating here again in the future..
The Malthouse – TelfordNot sure about the food or drinks, as we didn't get served. Actually, there was not even an acknowledgment of our presence, even though we booked in advance. After sitting for over 20 minutes we just walked out. The place looked very chaotic especially for the early time and not very busy.
The Elephant Crossing – Ironbridgehad a cracking meal here last night the pineapple salsa is amazing so good we went home n googled how to make it. the sticky toffee pudding is to die for as was the chocolate orange tart, but did expect pasty in a tarte so a bit supprised with that one.
The Bull – ShrewsburyWould have been nice to be told that certain things on the menu weren’t available as we went for the ribs but was sold out Staff seemed rushed off there feet
The Swan At Ironbridge – TelfordA pleasant meal. They kindly swopped the chips for salad when I asked. Perhaps they could consider providing a drinks menu so I could choose more easily but we will return.
