Lovely lunch, food was delicious and service was great.
Water Rat – IronbridgeNot eaten here before but we were impressed with the food choices, for vegetarians as well as omnivores, and all our meals were very tasty and not over priced. Good sized portions. Tempura vegetables particularly good. Good friendly service. Beer excellent!
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyGorgeous food for reasonable prices and a great atmosphere. The Pitmaster is a great sharing platter with leftovers for a doggybag
The Smokey Cow – TelfordExcellent food and great service.
The White Hart – IronbridgeThis was my first visit and it was fantastic food. I mean really fantastic . Had the steak as a bit of a treat and really was not disappointed. Cooked perfectly and the portion size was great. Pepper corn sauce is amazing as were the home cut chips. Lovely atmosphere, very friendly and attentive staff, would highly recommend it.
The Malthouse – TelfordWe came here on Tuesday about 6pm. it was fabulous, I had the SFC burger and my boyfriend had the raven burger. Both came out quickly and we were shocked at the size! They were presented beautifully. The lady on the bar was very attentive, made sure we were happy and was knowledgable with the menu, she recommended the burgers to us and we are so glad we chose these. We asked for a few changes and nothing was too much trouble. Inside was lovely and clean and very spacious. We can not wait to return when we are next visiting the area! I would recommend to everyone. When we went to pay our bill we noticed dog treats in a jar, we will be sure to bring our boy with us next time too knowing it’s dog friendly. Truly a hidden gem.
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyWhat a wonderful choice of venue, thanks to my wife. The building itself is interesting and well preserved, clean and obviously lovingly presented. We were not rushed to order which was as well as the menu offered many possibilities. The four of us chose different meals which were all served within a short space of time so nobody had to wait to start. The food well and presented, portions being large enough to satisfy a reasonable hunger but not so large as to be intimidating. As I now have family in the area it is top of my list for a pleasant evening dining.
Water Rat – IronbridgeWe enjoyed the very good dinner. the staff and the service were top.
Water Rat – IronbridgeIt’s difficult reviewing a meal that never happened! Booked online through their website - and booked for a specific time on a Tuesday evening! The website let me book - so turned up at said time - the place was closed! Maybe I should have checked, but when the website lets you choose a time and confirms your booking, I kind of imagined the place would be open. Hey ho…..
The Elephant Crossing – IronbridgeReally enjoyed the Sunday roast- generous, tasty, great variety of sides. Nice relaxed atmosphere.
The Swan At Ironbridge – TelfordA party of 9 people and everyone was very pleased with the food and the service we had thanks to everyone
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyExcellent! Food was delicious we had the muscles to start I wanted to drink the sauce! then the roast lamb and a sweet potatoes parcel lovely pub and the food was superb. We paid £66.50 for 2courses each and 2 drinks each. Would recommend and hope to bring back some family later in the year for a visit.
The Malthouse – TelfordExcellent Sunday roast, the brisket was fantastic.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordDistinctly ordinary food. Piri piri chicken didn’t taste of piri piri and was dry and overcooked.
Water Rat – IronbridgeDamn! The food is good.... Heres what I scoffed on my own (amd don't judge me) Starters: 5 buffalo wings + 2 prawn tostados Main: Brisket topped Hot dog and fries Sides: Mac n Cheese baby!! Dessert: Orange sorbet Absolutely fab food. Staff are AmAzInG...very attentive, talkative and dilligent.. a real asset to the pub.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordOverall a very good experience, food was lovely, my only small gripe would be that the plates were stone cold, the food was fine, but i would have expected it to come out on warmed up plates given i was paying over £30 for a steak.
The Malthouse – TelfordWhen we arrived, we were seen to a table in a fair amount of time. Next to us, on the other side of the wall, there was a large party going on. We could not talk to each other without shouting, as that table was really loud. It took over 20 minutes to take our orders (it was only my partner and I), 45 minutes for our starters to reach our table and 45 minutes for our mains to reach our table. My partners starter was cold, whereas mine was fairly warm. Afterwards, we waited 45 minutes for our mains to reach our table, only for me to have a side of halloumi sticks with chilli sauce (when I asked for just fried halloumi) and my steak to be blue when I asked of it to be rare and my partner to have normal fries when he had asked for kamikaze fries. At this point, we were ready to leave. It seems as though everyone gave attention to the party rather than their small customers, whose opinion also matters. We did not have dessert, which was disappointing, but waiting a very long time for that to arrive didn’t sound too great. Disappointed to say the least.
The Last Inn – NewportGreat meal on Saturday afternoon. Three people dining. Two of us had burgers options and the other had fish and chips from the light bites menu. Portion size was really good especially the light bites meal. Normally you only get a few chips in a mug with burgers but these came with a good helping of chips with the option to upgrade to messy fries if desired. Service was polite and friendly. Nice decor. Will come again.
