Ego has sister restaurants in the northwest on Liverpool's Hope Street, in Chester, Stockton Heath, Bramhall and at Manchester's Trafford Centre.

This Ego restaurant opened right next to Liverpool's Philharmonic Hall on Hope Street in June 2001. Like its sister restaurants which include Heswall on the Wirral, Chester, Stockton Heath, Bramhall and Manchester's Trafford Centre, Ego on Hope Street has the Mediterranean ambience to match the menu. Housed in a former potato warehouse, Elude is the first restaurant to open in Liverpool's docklands area. It's a classy affair -- intimate, cosy and romantic with lots of candles, curtains and flowers. It's on two levels with a bar downstairs and a 50-cover restaurant above serving interesting and eclectic Modern European food. 'Fifty One' is housed in a beautiful Victorian building on the promenade, opposite Southport's Theatre and Floral Hall. The high ceilings and original wooden floors make for an atmospheric venue where you can savour the food in this Italian fish restaurant. Every day, fish, shellfish, fruit and vegetables are sourced from Liverpool's speciality markets with meat exclusively supplied by Broughs the butcher. All the bread, pasta and desserts are freshly prepared in-house. The wine selection at Fifty One is predominantly organic and Italian, with the philosophy to offer fine wine at an affordable price. Award-winning Filini at Liverpool's Radisson SAS Hotel offers modern Italian food in a romantic setting with breathtaking views out over the city's historic waterfront. The restaurant has recently undergone a complete restoration with red vintage leather seating combining well with draping red curtains and impressive chandeliers. Southport's brand-new four star Ramada Plaza Hotel has a fantastic location, close to busy Lord Street but enjoying splendid views out over the Irish Sea. Facilities include 133 bedrooms, a fitness suite, meeting and function rooms and the bright and airy Marine Brasserie which has its own sun terrace. The menu offers plenty of choice ranging from light snacks - served from 11am until 10pm - to dishes firmly based on quality local produce including sweet-cured lamb from H Greaves & Son, Fleetwood smoked mackerel, Goosnargh duck pressing, Reg Johnson's smoked pork belly and a choice of grill steaks, burgers and beer-battered cod with homemade chips. The brasserie welcomes both hotel guests and non-residents and prices are very reasonable.

Liverpool's Prego Restaurant is ideally situated close to Aintree racecourse and the Switch Island junction of the M57 and M58. It's a spacious and airy venue with a cocktail bar and restaurant and space for 250 diners. The owner hails from southern Italy and the Italian/Mediterranean menu has a southern Italian influence. There is a range of speciality pizzas prepared in an authentic wood-stone pizza oven including a sweet pizza made with marshmallows and nutella. Lots of pasta options too, including seafood choices. Drink options include Italian beers, cocktails prepared by a resident 'mixologist' and an extensive wine list including a special champagne selection from Veuve Clicquot. Prego is open for lunch and dinner Monday to Friday and all-day Saturday and Sunday. There are some good-value dining offers and a cabaret night every last Thursday of the month.

The Coterie is located in Widnes just of the A557. This well established neighbourhood restaurant is run by husband and wife team David and Christine Tearle, both passionate about food and hospitality. Coterie translates as a circle of friends and that's exactly what you feel like when you are in the restaurant, you are treated like an old friend and you can use this warm and inviting venue in many ways; drop in day or night for a light bite from the wine bar that has a fantastic selection of fantastic freshly baked bread, gourmet cheese, tapas, simple hearty fayre and extensive wine list. Dine in the main restaurant with its open fire and farmhouse kitchen feel, choosing from the great value Table d'Hote menu or the more accomplished A la Carte. 'The Orangery' is a seperate space used for meetings and functions as well as for more contemporary dining in a setting with dark wood tables and modern leather chairs. Whichever you choose, David and his team of eight chefs are producing great food using top quality produce and cooking with passion and Christine adopts a relaxed, professional and friendly efficiency. Sunday lunch here is a local favourite. Open Tuesday-Saturday 12-2.30pm for lunch and 6-9.30pm for dinner. Sunday lunch 12-3.15 and dinner 6-9pm.
