Myself and my husband came Sunday for the Sunday lunch. We have been before for a Sunday lunch and I can honestly say it was even better this time round.. the lamb just melted in your mouth everything was piping hot and so tasty.. people may think it’s a tad pricey but in my opinion you pay for quality and the food is just that .. great service with lovely staff also ☺️

Bread and Butter – Preston

We all had a prawn cocktail to start & which was disappointing, as it was just a couple of lettuce leaves, some prawns & loads of Marie Rose dressing on a plate. More effort is needed. The Sunday roasts were tasty. However, we never got asked if we wanted a coffee or dessert. I think there had been a change of staff.

Lunesdale Arms – Kirkby Lonsdale

The starter course of crumpet with goat’s cheese was simple but well presented and tasty. The main course was ribeye steak with chips and salad. The steak was probably the worst I have ever encountered. Only a third of it was edible - the rest of it was gristle and fat. I would have returned the dish but I didn’t want disrupt my guest’s meal. Friday 14.2.25 Beautiful place, nicely arranged rooms, privately arranged tables and very comfortable chairs but we were cold so we kept on our coats. Pate starters were £8.50 I think, the pate, chutney & toast was all very nice with some extra bread on the side which was a nice touch and an automatic bottle of water was brought which is always appreciated especially when one of us is driving. My wife chose the venison it was tender and beautifully cooked with tasty sides but hellish expensive at £30!! The sausage and mash was ok and chosen because it was the cheapest at £17!! Desserts - can't remember what it was called but it was in a glass with marshmallows, wasn't for me. My wife who likes most things had the trio of desserts. Never until now has she been disappointed with this choice. Presentation could have been much better, the nicest bit was the warm brownie which was no more than 3 x 3cm and at £12 we felt completely ripped off. The service was friendly but very steady and a few things got forgotten and although it was valentine's night they weren't busy so the service should have been better. At these prices it's a treat for us and automatically my level of expectation is much higher without disappointment. I would expect everything to be perfect and delicious. When you put yourself on a pedestal and the local competition is plenty and of quality you need to be top notch at everything. If the prices were lowered we would come back but unless that was to happen it's not worth the risk.

We had our first sharing platter (roast) and I can't fault it, definitely value for money. We also ordered the tiramusu cheesecake which was really tasty. All staff were very friendly and the service was speedy. Highly recommend

Went to Hapton Inn yesterday for Sunday dinner and I must say from the moment we entered the building it was a lovely experience. We received a warm welcome, a swift service from friendly, knowledgeable staff and excellent food! We’ll definitely be back for more. Thank you to all the staff!

Everything on the menu in this restaurant is incredible especially the Sunday roast. Always piping hot and very good portions. The special Spanish chicken was excellent. Service is brilliant and very friendly staff. The Fairground dessert is sensational and not just for children!!

Went for Sunday lunch with four other people. Very impressed with the service, food, decor & ambience. The only issue was that the draft beer was 'off'...

First time here for valentines night.Arrived parking outside walked round to the entrance all decorated for the night. Greeted at the bar seating at the kitchen bar left side within minutes. The chef and staff were working very hard all night.Chef passed some king prawns over said a little thing to be going on with.we had ordered a set menu prior so a nice gesture. Food was Orkney scallops served hot very well presented.Main was chateaubriand for 2 with chips and vegetables. The main was cooked to perfection served with style. All staff worked tirelessly all night everyone in the kitchen from the chef to the pan girl dessert team steak guy prep team were spot on. A very well run kitchen with a head chef who worked very very hard all night. Well done you guys we will certainly be back and will bring friends.

A great experience from start to finish. This place was very busy on valentines evening and got there 10 min before my reservation. Usually in some places you would expect slight delays or even some loss in quality of service, Not here for sure. We was seated right away and the staff are very nice and helpful and really make you feel welcome. After ordering the food came in good time considering how busy it was. Was the food good ? No! it was fantastic ! food is really really good here and was expecting to get a second mortgage to pay the bill. But best part is its not even that expensive they have similar prices to just a normal run of the mill pub lunch but with vastly superior quality. I will and have and continue to recommend this place to anyone.

Quattro’s – Ormskirk

A very disappointing visit to The Ship for a family meal out. Food was very average and seemed quite overpriced for what you got. Unfortunately, our visit collided with a lively group of mainly men stood around the bar, which was quite intimidating when we entered. Their language was foul and a heated argument erupted so the atmosphere was definitely not relaxing! This was not what we were expecting to deal with in front of our three sons. A woman was also openly vaping in front of bar staff and nothing was said to her. The behaviour of other guests should have been dealt with more appropriately. A man apologised for his language on our way out but our evening had been ruined. We were barely there for an hour and asked for the bill as soon as we’d finished. I think the restaurant has changed owners a couple of times in the last few years but it’s safe to say we won’t be returning any time soon.
