The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyHad afternoon tea with a twist and was not disappointed, it was very nice and refreshingly different. Our waitress was very good too. Would recommend for something a little different.
The Swan At Ironbridge – TelfordHad a terrific night at the Malthouse. Started with a lovely meal and then followed by some fantastic live music. Would definitely recommend a night at the Malthouse.
The Malthouse – TelfordWe came is Saturday, 3 tables of people, 1waited 1 hour for food, starters and mains came out together, hardly any of the menu available….very poor!
The Bull – ShrewsburyBeen to this venue many times and enjoyed every meal but this time it wasn’t up to the usual standard. Very fatty meat for a roast dinner, all our meals were just missing something not the usual excellent quality we have come to expect.
The Queens Head – OswestryBrilliant! Went for lunch on Saturday with my Dad for his birthday. He lives in Wem and so chose to go here. I booked on line and asked for a quiet table due to my Dad being in his 80's. The lady wished my Dad Happy Birthday after showing us our table. The food, as always, was great. The tomato & thyme soup with focaccia was heavenly and my Dad thoroughly enjoyed his fish & chips, while I had a nice light chicke & bacon salad. Great services all round and lovely people, would highly recommend :)
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyWe had an afternoon tea, with a difference, sliders, ribs, wings and then pud. Food was really nice, well cooked and tasty. Serving team were very polite also, nothing too much trouble. Highly recommend.
The Swan At Ironbridge – TelfordThe food was lovely along with the service and friendliness of the gentleman that served us, very accommodating However the place was not clean ,quite off putting, crisps all over the floor, crumbs and food on chairs ( which the barman cleaned after I asked him too) cobwebs on windows, such a shame because it was off putting ad the crumbs between the gaps on the table, I was concerned then about the kitchen
The Swan At Ironbridge – TelfordAfternoon tea was superb. Service was excellent. Will definitely book again
The Swan At Ironbridge – TelfordSteak excellent cooked to perfection. Chicken pie definitely home made, large chunks of chicken very tasty.
The Last Inn – NewportWhen we arrived there was one other table in the restaurant who were receiving their food so there was no queue of orders in the kitchen. We ordered drinks, a shared cocktail which was warm and served with no ice. Our food did not arrive until an hour after our booking (reminder that when we arrived there was one table who were eating already) however a couple who came in to order to takeaway ordered and received their food way before us. The food was nice but as we were disappointed already it was hard to enjoy. We had no napkins and one fork to share between us and we couldn’t get the servers attention to bring us more - our table was also dirty. We wanted to leave as soon as we ate, when I went up to pay I wasn’t shown the bill just given the card reader and by that point I just wanted to leave so didn’t bother asking to see it. I hate to leave a bad review but just wanted to enjoy a birthday meal and was very disappointed.
The Elephant Crossing – IronbridgeSadly every dish was over cooked and really dry. We couldn’t eat the monk fish, steak tacos or the lamb. We left hungry and disappointed with the meal after reading such great reviews.
The Elephant Crossing – IronbridgeWas really exited to try here with our friends who were visiting for the weekend. We arrived early and hoped to sit and have a drink prior to our booking. Only to be told they were too busy and already behind with bookings. The restaurant only had one table taken. We left and came back at our booking time. We had booked for bottomless brunch. As we arrived again we were greeted with the barman stating how busy it was and because of the weather they had alot of walk ins for drinks on the terrace. Again there was only 1-2 table taken in the restaurant. We were seated and ordered our first drinks. One of our favourites is amaretto sour but after the first drink we were shown a box of eggs and told that there was only 2 eggs left so we could either eat them or save them for the sours! I stated that since the bottomless brunch menu was 90% egg based then there may be a problem! We managed to squeeze in 4 drinks in the 2 hour period we were there. And theat was a push as they also ran out of sugar syrup and ingredients to make the bramble cocktail! One of the guests was vegetarian and the order was taken incorrectly so she had to wait whilst we all had our mains. The food was OK. Really disappointing.
The Elephant Crossing – IronbridgeLovely meal wonderfully cooked and very accommodating to swap things around, thank you very much we will be back
The Bull – ShrewsburyDelightful bar staff nothing was to much for them ,very polite Food excellent, would highly recommend
The Smokey Cow – TelfordA very enjoyable evening, friendly and helpful staff, great value, looking forward to returning.
Water Rat – IronbridgeBest Sunday lunch ever. So tasty and well presented We visit regularly Can’t understand why it’s not busier
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyThis was our 8th Sunday lunch visit but unfortunately this time it was not a satisfactory experience The pub was busy and whilst drinks were served reasonably quickly it took a while for our starters to be served. It was an even longer wait for our mains and when they eventually arrived the food wasn’t as hot as we would have expected It would appear that more staff were needed to deliver a satisfactory service
