Me and my partner visited on New Year’s Day, we were greeted by a lovely lady (who I believe her name is Niamh going by the receipt) and from start to finish she was wonderful, always had a smile on her face and so accommodating. We wanted to pass on how much we appreciated her kindness and she is such a credit to this establishment. Food and atmosphere was lovely as always. Thank you :)

My husband and I visited the Swan for the smoke stop afternoon tea on New Year's Day. It was very busy, with many customers arriving at once. Staff were pleasant and working hard to provide prompt service. Afternoon tea was good. We had scones with jam and clotted cream, selection of sandwichs with ham, cheese and egg, chicken wings and boneless chicken strips, brownies and cheesecake. Wasn't a smoke stop but nice afternoon tea. Tea was teabag and water, rather than a tea made and brought to the table, or a pot of tea. But happy with environment, food, staff and price.

Nice afternoon tea using a Groupon code so very reasonable, especially for an early New Years Eve treat. Pub was busy so wait times were a little longer but not a problem. Good food but small portions for the savoury side. Would definitely go again.

Table for two on NYE. We've been multiple times and this was one of the busiest nights we've eaten here. Service was faultless and food delicious. Senior staff were extremely on the ball and had the whole place running like clockwork. All the servers were attentive and friendly despite being obviously tired from a busy shift. Couldn't fault anything other than the lightbulb above our table was flickering but that wasn't a big deal as only for a few minutes.

We had a table booked for New Years Eve while staying in Ironbridge for a couple of night. Our table was upstairs and the area was nicely laid out. The service was excellent. Our food was superb far exceeding what we were expecting. Can not recommend highly enough.

Great food and service. Best steak pie locally. A great choice on the menu. Just needs a few more people in there. Good real ale too.

I ordered the rump steak however they did not have any left therefore I ordered a fillet steak which was absolutely delicious and cooked perfectly (medium rare.) We did ask for a side of garlic bread and coleslaw however they did not have any left. The staff were very friendly and we didn't have to wait long for our meal. Well done guys!

I booked a meal for 10 people and pre-booked our meals. We had a lovely table and the food was all brought out relatively soon after everyone had arrived. Food was lovely and the service was attentive - I couldn’t fault a thing!

Christmas lunch was lovely but couldn't eat it all. We both had the turkey ,Hubby enjoyed it also. The starter wasn't for me I'm afraid I had the halloumi. Hubby had goats cheese and enjoyed it.for desert I found the cheese cake not to my liking as the presentation didn't wow me and looked very watery on the plate.no taste to the cheese cake and the strawberry's didn't look appertising ,Hubby had cheese and crackers, I wished the tables were a bit bigger. The table seemed very cramped

£450 for Christmas Day. Meal. Starter was high light. Yorkshire pudding on a Christmas Dinner? Not enough gravy. Turkey was ok. As restaurant got busier service declined. Did not clear away main course. Had to wait an hour for pudding. No custard on Xmas pudding ? To afraid d to ask for more as felt like we were forgotten about. Overall experience was disappointing. Will not go there next year.

We had a meal here with family friends who came from the Cotswolds. We were one of 3 tables in the whole pub. Before coming, we got a call to say that our pre ordered food wasn’t available- lamb and pork. None the less we ordered alternative meats. We walked in and the table wasn’t fully set. After about 15 minutes we had to ask to order some drinks. After waiting a while the food came out, before our drinks. We asked for our drinks and the bar lady came over and spilt all of them all over the floor. This was unfortunate but brushed it off. The roasts didn’t come with Yorkshire puddings although ordered, so we asked for them. The food was nice, abit small for the price and the food was unfortunately Luke warm. While this is happening the waitress drops a knife on a tiny baby in a pram. The mother is obviously so shocked as the poor baby had a cut on its head. The waitress doesn’t apologise and runs off while the other waitresses were a mere meter from the table and proceeded to look at the ground, avoiding the situation. Obviously the parents of the baby were completely shocked by this. That table then has to ask for cutlery and gravy for there food….. We were not asked once for more drinks or how our meal was. Once the plates were eventually taken we were asked ‘anything else?’… well maybe some desert ? After desert we were unfortunately waiting a while again for any drinks and eventually were able to ask the waitress’ for our bill once eyecontact stopped being avoided. Although the food was nice, the service was absolutely abismal. We really weren’t asking for lot just normal service. We all got the sense that we weren’t wanted there right from the beginning. It seemed as there was no clear management. Unfortunately won’t be coming again especially as we are Ironbridge locals.

The Swan is a perfect example of why eating out isn't worth the effort anymore. If you like waiting 2 hours for plates of grisly, salty meat then go ahead. Service is terrible. Not one apology for the long wait and no offers of compensation. It wouldn't be so bad if the food was reasonably priced but it's not. Save yourself the time and money and just go to the chip shop near the square instead.
