Great people, Kind and welcoming. Beautiful rest area and great view

Went for Mothers Day with wife, 2 daughters and grandmother. Lovely meal, with pleasant service and friendly atmosphere. The only problem was we were charged for a 3 course meal, rather than the 2 course meal we had; only discovering on the M6 on the way to Lancaster. Without this mishap, we would have scored the service and value higher !

As always food was excellent, great atmosphere and you seem to have a lot more experienced staff so it was a great service too

Excellent food and service

Not been for a few years won't be in a rush to go back again booked a table for 4 adults and 2 kids for Mother's Day got to the place no table organised got plonked in the cold bar area waitress came over offered the Mother in law and Wife a prosecco told the waitress that they don't drink alcohol is there a non alcoholic option to be told no ok let's move on came to ordering the food Wife Is a veggie wanted a carvery to be told there isn't a veggie option for the carvery and to order the kids one and just have it without meat so around £10 for veg and spuds brilliant table only got half cleared after the mains had finished all the staff was stood round the bar chatting like they all had just started on the day not having a clue what to do came to paying asked for the bill to be told just go to the bar and pay glad I got a receipt because I'm sure if I hadn't I wouldn't have been told about the service charge that was added when it came to paying I had to ask the group of staff if I could get to the bar overall the food was ok but the service was shocking wasted over £100 on what was meant to be a nice meal out for Mother's Day.

Excellent food, great service and a lovely village pub atmosphere, will definitely return.

Another excellent evening at Quatros

We haven’t been for a number of years, but heard that the pub was back open and thriving. We visited for Mother’s Day and the service from start to finish was excellent. We were welcomed as we entered the restaurant , the staff were super friendly and the food was amazing. The small touches made a huge difference, petals on the table, daffodils for all the mums, first class all round.

Went for a meal last night (Sunday 15th March 2026) at the Shepherd's Rest. They'd clearly had a busy day (Mothering Sunday!) but the staff were polite and very friendly. We both had the salmon - cooked to perfection with Hasselback potatoes and greens/spinach - simple but just delicious. We will certainly be returning, thank you.

Lovely friendly staff. Food was excellent. Portion sizes are huge we actually struggled to eat it all so staff boxed it up so we could take it home. I have visited many times and have never been dissappinted with the food.

Apart from dogs throwing up in there and putting my daughter off her food the food was ok burger bun was a bit hard too much batter on onion rings the Sunday lunch was good starters were good.. great pint of Guinness and then the lad on the till screwed our bill up .

Amazong food and service. Best roast dinner we have had on a long while. We will definitely be back.

Came for Mother's Day as family of 6 - Beef Sunday lunch was amazing, huge portions and such good value for money. Young bar staff and waiter - all great service. Will be back again soon.

I ate Sunday lunch at the Lunesdale Arms with a friend and despite it being very busy due to being Mother’s Day, I was delighted that the food and service were just as good as usual and the prices the same. We were also given a small gift bag when we left which was a nice touch. Highly recommended.

So pleased Maxy Farm is open for business again, the food is excellent and the service is superb. The staff are always very friendly and attentive. Most recently visited as a last minute Mother's Day treat and it didn't disappoint!!
