Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereWhat a lovely old pub, and a great find. Had such a lovely visit. Staff were very attentive and pleasant. Met the new managers who were so helpful and accommodating. They've only been there a few months and are really working hard to turn this pub around. Doing a great job up to now. Definitely worth a visit and will look forward to going again. Food is homecooking, straightforward and great portions. Perfect quiet location to get away from busy Penrith and Pooley Bridge, bang in the middle. Easy bus or taxi drive. Looking forward to returning in the summer. Will definitely book ahead as this place will get so busy in the coming months
Queens Head Inn Tirril – PenrithAbsolutely superb. Melt in the mouth venison bourguignon with a gorgeous herb dumpling and delicious roast beef. We always look forward to a visit to the Pheasant Inn every time we are in the Lakes.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickHad Sunday lunch whilst visiting the area. The pub is very old full of charm and character. The staff were very friendly and the roast dinner was huge and very good. We would definitely visit again and as they have rooms we would happily over night there and enjoy an evening in the bar.
Queens Head Inn Tirril – PenrithGreat meal, staff friendly, service great.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickEarly sitting for evening meal for 2 people. Very easy booking system, welcomed with a smile and seated immediately. Great selection of courses and all our choices were cooked perfectly. Reasonable price for wine and food. Service was excellent. We have eaten at Lewis’s on 5 occasions and will definitely be visiting again soon.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereFantastic service, could not fault a thing. Food amazing, will be back for sure.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickGreat food, service and atmosphere. There were six of us having a meal for Mothers Day and all of us were extremely impressed. Will be back in future.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeService excellent. Food was as always amazing. We always go back to la mezzaluna because its so good
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleThis is our second visit here. On both occasions the food was excellent, the welcome, warm and friendly and the service was prompt. Most importantly, our little tank (staffie) was welcomed with much fuss and attention. A big thumbs up from us.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeLewis’s bistro offers a menu that is not overly congested with options but enough to get the taste buds tingling. The venue, the food and the service is overall, very good. Our table had the Beef Stroganoff and the Sea Bass. The dishes were well cooked, tasty with excellent presentation. My only slight concerns were upon leaving, when one of the local employees let her views be known about people from outside of Cumbria buying property in Grasmere. Whilst we acknowledged her frustrations, being labelled as “you’re one of them” felt a little unnecessary. Customer service is about your customers experience and your views should be private. A slightly sour note to what is a great place to dine.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereFirst time visitor, food was delicious, will definately be visiting again
Adriano’s Italian Restaurant – CarlisleExcellent Food and nice surrounding, The wine was an excellent choice.
