The food and staff are both superb. The location is outstanding. Gemma is always particularly helpful & friendly. It's s proper pub with restaurant quality (or better) food.

Me and my wife had dinner last Friday the service and food where excellent.

Very good meal, excellent that the provision is made for smaller portions for over 65 year olds. The pub was very busy so it was a bit cramped and noisy but this was well managed and the service was very good.

We were a party of 7 on Saturday March 7th and we all agreed the food was excellent. We really enjoyed our visit from the friendly attentive service, value for money and the most tasty food. 10/10

Lunch for 14 people was excellent. Food was delicious, served promptly and nice and hot. Staff are friendly and helpful and provided a great service.

Food was delicious, staff were very welcoming and accommodating. I booked for my wife’s birthday and she was presented with a complimentary glass of Prosecco on arrival. This was very kind and much appreciated. We also brought our dog and again, the staff were very kind, patient and attentive with her. We had a lovely evening, thank you. Will definitely return.

Four in our party eat here on Saturday 7th march we hadn’t visited for a little while due to my husbands ill health it was so good to go back and see the lovely Jane and all fabulous staff food was wonderful and a nice bottle of red wine went down a treat and the sweets were so good fab place to eat nothing left on the plates service was fast although it was busy no waiting and all requirements met thank you and hope to see you all soon annie

First time at the Horse and Farrier Dacre and certainly won’t be the last . Lovley setting and well worth the visit . The food on offer was excellent and the gluten free options for my wife were very good. There was also a good choice on the specials board. Everything coming out the kitchen looked good so I knew we were in for a treat and we were not disappointed. From the starter to the desserts everything was well cooked tasted great good portion sizes so you were definitely not leaving hungry . The service was also excellent. If you are ever in the Lake District do not hesitate to make this a destination for great food.

Such a lovely evening. Well looked after as always. Friendly staff and very efficient. The food is excellent with a menu that catered well for all of us . Good veggie options. This restaurant has always been our favourite in Carlisle. If you haven't been do go and give it a try!

Excellent food and service, very busy but staff always aware and attentive. Great value for money people need to come and experience what an Italian family restaurant should be.
