Visited on 19/11. The food was absolutely lovely and the staff were friendly and attentive. Two of us had the sirloin steak which was cooked perfectly and one of us had the steak and ale pie which they said was beautiful. One of my favourite places to come for food in Newport.

Sunday lunch for 2 - 19th November 2023. Sharing plate Dessert was superb. For mains, I had roast chicken - it was good: Nice size, veggies lovely especially the cauliflower cheese served in separate dish. However, my husband had roast beef. He's had it many many times in the past and it's always been succulent and tender. This time, it was like cardboard. Over cooked, dry, uniform thin slices. I tried it and it tasted like a processed product you might expect to find on a supermarket deli shelf (reheated). Hard, dry and chewy. Such a disappointment. My husband informed the manager who didn't offer an explanation (eg new supplier) but apologised and said he would speak with chef. We were aware that other diners had issues with the beef. I suspect the Last Inn are no longer using that brilliant meat & pie supplier from near Market Drayton. What a shame. We will go again though to see if the problem has been rectified.

Enjoyed our latest visit , the food was really good , staff were pleasant and helpful . Improved menu is good selection with some favourites still on board .

Top food and service as always!

We had a party of 30. Pre- ordered. Everyone enjoyed the food. Staff were friendly and accommodating.

Family meal x 13, Adults x 10, Kids x 3. Great variety on the menu, we had many varied dishes & empty plates all round. Everyone said the food was really nice, it was great. Food, service, environment was great. Just be careful with drive to venue down lanes, but well worth the trip. Highly recommend & re are already booked to visit over Christmas. Thank you all for making our family get together a great night.

Disappointed. Was recommended the Swan by friends. Nice atmosphere, singer was an added bonus. We were sat and no one came to us for a good 15mins. We were about to go to the bar as we thought maybe it was self ordering. Eventually someone arrived. Drinks took a while to arrive, but bar was busy so we accepted this. Food ordered and we were warned there would be a delay, again not a massive issue, and nachos arrived fairly quickly actually. Very nice, but was cold, wasn’t expecting it to be hot, but tortillas could have been warm with melted cheese. Instead cold tortillas, with dots of sauce on top, again there could have been some sauce throughout the dish. Burnt ends really nice. Mains arrived, my partners fried chicken burger was very salty, and my ribs were ok, nice flavour, but a bit tough. Staff were apologetic for this and also slow service, but we were disappointed with the visit. Hopefully a one off and maybe we will try again in future.

They Iver charged me by 4 drinks and then added extra food that we never ordered, the food was good but definitely dodgy

Thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Good and varied menu. Hot plates always a sign of a good restaurant

Lovely menu to choose from , all the food we had was beautiful. Will definitely be back soon !

Wonderful 3 course meal with bottle of wine, food was plentiful and great quality. Even have stout on draught! Service excellent too, we will be back.

Fantastic food and service. Looks fresh and modern inside. Would highly recommend.

Visited here yesterday for a Sunday roast and was quite disappointed. No roaring fire lit like previous visits. lots of tables empty and the room at the back was cold. No ambiance like berore. The food was ok but seemed like it had been kept warm for a long time even though we ate for around 2pm. Staff were helpful.
