Took our grandsons 18 & 15 out yesterday for tea. As always good food, atmosphere and service. One of our favourite Italian restaurants, never disappoints. Good value, highly recommended.

Verdes Restaurant – ChorleyExcellent food, attentive and polite staff, nice ambience about the place. Seabass fillets and pork medallions both tasty and sufficient. Well worth a visit.

Siena – RossendaleI booked our table online, which was really easy. Having pre studied the extensive menu, we were looking forward to having lunch here. Firstly, we were directed /pointed to the wrong table, a table that appeared to seat 6 and there was only two of us, then one of the waitresses approached and said ‘’I’ve been asked to move you to another table, your on the wrong one’’. Once again, we were pointed to another table. It was some time after seating that we were asked if we wanted a drink, there was no wine menu given or on the table. We decided to have the ‘two courses’ lunch deal. The soup was lovely and decent sized portion. The sausage roll starter was nice, but the second one was a little dry, but again, a decent sized portion. Now for the mains….. I had the minute steak with fries and peppercorn sauce……it was very underwhelming! The portion size was very small and the meat, sauce and fries looked slopped on the large plate looking a little lost. There was absolutely no presentation went into serving and looked like something you would be served at a work canteen. The smashed cheese burger with fries, again, very underwhelming……tasted ok, but was mainly brioche bun and several fries. Again, no presentation. Due to the small portion size, I had room for a dessert……which was nice, but didn’t taste as described, and the apple chunks in the crumble were a little hard in parts and under cooked. The service was a little slow, and one waitress came across quite rude on more than one occasion, slamming the wine menu down in front of me after I had to ask for it. Now for the bill….. and it wasn’t cheap, especially for the quality of the food we received. Then there was an option to add a tip…10%, 20%, 25%….. which had the food been worthwhile and service good and friendly, I would gladly give…… but it wasn’t…… and despite not selecting a tip, it added 10% on anyway, which I don’t feel is fair! All in all, I wouldn’t say never again, but sadly, I won’t be in a rush to return any time soon.
The Whitchaff Inn – RawtenstallWe go to Papa Luigis in Euxton very regularly and the staff and food are always superb… It is such a welcoming restaurant and they had made a great effort for Halloween , decorating it brilliantly..

A’Vucciria – RawtenstallBeautiful meal at Quattros once again. We have moved house recently & now live 15 miles away. Unfortunately we've yet to find an Italian restaurant to beat Quattros in our new area so we made the journey last night & wasn't disappointed - the best tomato garlic bread around!
